I put Bilstein 5100’s on my last ‘11 Tacoma and it made a huge difference in handling.

When I purchased my 2020 TRD Sport RWD from the dealer, it already had a readylift leveling kit on it w/ 3” shock spacer on the front and 2” block n bolts on rear.

My question is: if I want to upgrade shocks only and keep the lift as is, I should just look for standard size shocks, not a “lifted” or longer shock, correct? I dont think I need a longer shock in this regard.... open to input. Thank you’s!

Tough call. Here is my opinion.

If you are buying new shocks for an improvement, then the spacers have to go.

The spacers will make good shocks feel harsh.

New shocks can replace the spacers while keeping the same height, but you can't stack the lifts without major costly issues.

You will need longer shocks for the rear like 5160’s for example

Thanks yes I’ve been tinkering with going to 6112 front and 5160 back. I’m just trying to understand what will work. It’s not that big of a deal to swap the front lift spacer for something better, assuming I can get the same lift height. I think the 6112 are only 2” tho. My lifts at 3”. I think Bilsteins without the spacer would leave me w 2” front but I still have the 2” rear block. Dang it

Do you really need a 3" lift though? I'm around ~2 inches here.
