MESO is already running it. 6psi boost put the truck in low 300 HP i think. cant remember the numbers but its better then the supercharhgers that just landed for the 3rd gens.

Superchargers for low end torque, turbskis for high end HP, least that's what I've always been told.

I've been eyeballing the whipple kit URD says only fits the FJ cruiser. I think it's a hood clearance issue why it doesn't fit the Tacoma but I mean shaker hoods...

The MP-90 (TRD/Magnuson) super charger is just a little wimpy for a 4.0 even with a over boost pulley me thinks. I think 300-350hp would be AMAZING in a 2nd gen.

URD Whipple and the UCON EMS is my dream, but it's a dream.

Almost got stuck on a hill off-roading recently because I didn't have enough torque even in 4low to go back up the steep loose grade without bogging, had to third foot and slip the heck out of it to recover.

 

Are FI engines a bit more maintenance? I know nothing about them.

 

Yeah, superchargers need their cone (gear box) oil serviced occasionally, turbos are cooled by your engine oil so more regular oil changes are a really good idea.

As the pressure inside the engine is greater better fuel (premium) is a must, they also stress your internals some so you may lose some reliability especially if you're not responsible with it.

Plus they need a tune to get the most power safety and reliability over the widest range which is more money.
