my future seems to involve frames apon frames.

i shall corner the restoration market!

 

We'll all be at your mercy once our frames finally succumb. What a day that'll be.

 

By then we might be taxed to even drive ICE vehicles in most cities. At least those of us not around salt.

So I did some research and most cast aluminum parts are made with 3xxx grade which is an alloy containing manganese while pontoons are usually 5xxx grade stuff (magnesium). I'm thinking that's why it turns black where as magnesium alloy gets shiny since hydrochloric reacts so strongly with it.

In that research I've found stories and pictures of guys using Mag wheel cleaner to restore old intakes and mag wheel cleaner is predominantly hydrofluoric acid

@Sebz13 Also in that research I found that most diamond plate is 4017 which is an alloy containing copper, manganese, and magnesium so I don't know how it would turn out. But I withdraw my recommendation on muriatic acid and instead now recommending to get a spray on mag wheel cleaner from the auto parts store

sounds good gentlemen. I’m going to try an oven cleaner and see how that goes. Then move on to acids

 

I saw this giant rock stack on Utah Route 6 and I wanted to ram into it just for you.

 

Why can i not find any used axles for my tundra less than 100 a piece!

 

Like just an axle shaft?

 

The CV. the napa on is continuing to piss me off when im in 4wd

 

all the sequoias and tundras at the local yards have had their axles taken.

So we finally painted that Chevy frame I've been welding on. I think it came out nice

I get them for 49 bucks a piece at the local wrecker. Didn't you see I just picked up two

 

i envy you. go get me a set if you can ship them less than 50 bucks.

 

I'm pretty sure Ray Charles could lay a better bead with his feet than Tyler

 

I find it weird that all of the aftermarket axles for a tundra use a tulip joint. Seems like Toyota would have done that if it was viable but they saw a reason it needed more articulation
