B12 is the only conference that isnt set up with a conference championship. Thus, they already had their conference only schedule set up. ACC and SEC needed time to pivot and get the schedules cleared.

I see the conference championship game being less and less important going forward. I actually kind of like this setup, except I'd like to see more games (12) and more OOC games with ranked opponents. Do a rotating cross conference schedule so you play different teams from the other division.

The B12 got lucky. No pandemic, no B12 in the playoffs.

They do have a conference championship game.

 

Not playing hurts the big 10 IMO. Practice is no replacement for game time and they are behind the curve. Maybe they will have some advantage in fewer injuries but the SEC having to play each other with no creampuff games will harden SEC teams.

B12 has a championship game. How you don’t know this is beyond me considering the SEC has been so obsessed with the B12 that they adopted their defensive strategies.

Championship games are a money grab that trashes the playoff because it adds the additional throwaway conference game that could screw the better team (see: Pitt making it the other year).

If you’re going to sit here and tell me the SEC isn’t trash besides Alabama, I have a sign for you to hold. The B12 likely won’t make it this year, but let’s not pretend the SEC looks great south of Alabama. UF and UGA are taking another loss, and Alabama is going to thrash either one of them in the SECCG, and UGA wil cry about how they deserve a shot despite getting crushed twice (if it’s them in ATL).

Playoff will likely be CLE, ALA, OSU, ND.

 

ND will loss is a bad fashion to Clemson. This year may see two B1G teams in the playoffs.

 

I hedged ACC/ND instead of two B1G. I admittedly known nothing outside of OSU being stacked and that it doesn’t matter how good UM, they’re taking an ugly loss to OSU and likely a stupid loss elsewhere.

 

I’m thinking PSU beats OSU next weekend, then wins out. OSU gets the four spot with one loss.

 

I think Bama is the only team that has a shot at beating Clemson. Bama's offense can keep up and if their defense improves a little bit and plays well that day can slow Clemson's offense down enough to win a shoot out.

 

Didn’t PSU’s RB just decide to sit out, or did I confuse teams?

edit. Some medical issue, says he may miss the season. Either way, they have some other RB’s that should be able to step up.

 

I have great historical disdain for PSU and ND, so watching either one of them get blown out in the playoff after such high hopes is gratifying on equal levels.

 

Wouldn't be surprised if ND drops another ACC game. They haven't exactly been "tearing it up" this season. If Clemson is "on," ND will get crushed...thinking a 3+ TD loss.

It sure looks like Clemson and Bama in the finals again.

I mean, the goal of the committee is to put the best 4 teams in.

That simple statement, although somewhat vague, means they could decide to put UCF, ND, Oklahoma and Georgia Tech in. If that is who they deem the best 4.

I suppose the B1G could put together a body of work large enough to gauge, but I dont know how well.

It will be interesting to see what happens when flu season hits with the Rona running wild, how the northern teams fair with opt outs and quarantining. Considering in the healthcare world, everything is Rona, until you prove otherwise, it could get interesting.

 

I’m talking about this year and you’re parading on previous years. It’s like you don’t have a clue and you’re just being a homer, but what else is new.

The narrative that the SEC sucks except for one team, has been strong with other conferences for more than just this year. It's like you are choosing to be oblivious to your hate and poor choices in football.
