Then why not get a properly marked receiver? I know it CAN be done but not really at all worth it. Had my fun with it when I didn’t have to pay for the ammo lol

Not all receivers are marked in any particular way. To include full auto.
Just as there’s no requirement that I know of that requires safe to be spelled out or have a bullet with a line through it.

Wether it’s worth it or not varies from person to person, to quite a few owners they’re an investment with potential to have a very high rate of return, the number of Pre-86 MG’s decreases every year which makes the remaining ones higher value. To some (dare I say most) they’re a form of diversified investment.

I’d like to own many one day, wether that day will come I do not know but it is one goal of many.

    Same.

No doubt an SMG for cheaper shooting

Of course cheap is relative, but ive seen uzi's for 10-12k. I see ARs in the 40k range (and its more expensive to shoot)

Cost is all relative. This prius costs $27/round to shoot... at 6,600 RPM

I’m guessing that gun started out as Semi Auto then he Manufactured a machinegun (through him being a SOT). Then engraved his receiver with the SOT credentials. So it’s really not worth getting another receiver, getting it tapped for the 3rd pin hole and getting it engraved all over again just to have it say “auto” by the selector.

Well,I finally got this thing shooting, whew. New gas block taking the place of the adjustable one that was seemingly the problem. Installed new gas block, hey, how do you guys get off old, crushed crush washers? Couldn't find my long handled dikes, so I cut it off with the Dremal....Then I find them. Any who, pissed the neighbors off buy shooting one to see the bolt lock back, then loaded five and shot them. So it's alive, yes!IMG_0194.jpg

Good looking rifle. I haven't even had a chance to shoot my most recent build because I can't find any ammo.

Being a shorter barreled .308 with a tiny flash guard, it's load as hell. But I like the small size, with the .308 hit. I've got some ammo to shoot, but like you said, buying replacement stock sucks right now.

I've shot 7.62 SBR'd and that was loud as hell. So I'm guessing a 308 would be pretty insane. Wonder if there's 308 compensator you can use to push that sound forward?

Ammo shortage, totally does suck. I normally go up to the UP (upper peninsula, Mi) with my buddies we shoot all sort of firearms. We all bring something. We were all pretty stingy with out ammo this year. I bought a shit ton of 9mm and 5.45 before this covid crap. I didn't have an AR at the time, now I am wishing I didn't pass on the crates of 5.56 that were to be had cheap.
