Damn, shortage of Toyota vehicles is driving up prices of used Tacomas here in Hawaii.

2017 with 50,000 miles priced as $30,000. Holy shizzzz

For shits and giggles I went to Carmax to get a quote on how much they’d give me for my truck last week. 2010 prerunner DCLB with 75k miles. They offered me $22,500. I bought my truck brand new for $26,000 drive out 10 years ago.

Makes me love our trucks even more!!

I've seen the same here in SW PA also I've seen carmax , carvona buying up a lot of used vehicles/Tacomas. Trying to push the covid friendly buy from home angle.

Paid $13k out the door (2008 SR5), as is, dents and scratches, 5 years ago.
Totalled it early spring, insurance gave me $18k, all in CAD$ of course.

Depends on where you are. Not all areas of the country are gouging, be willing to travel and save money

The 2013 DC 4x4 SR5 I bought last week with 88,500 miles had a fair purchase price of $24,704. I paid slightly less. Sticker on this vehicle in 2013 when new was $30,000. Wow! I was happy to pay it, but that is crazy low depreciation.

I read somewhere years ago that the Tacoma is the slowest/lowest depreciating vehicle out there. Gives us more money for mods!!

I bet if I tried to sell it on my own, I could squeeze $24000 out of it ..... but F that. Either I die or my truck dies are the only 2 conditions I’d separate from my truck.

The closest comparable Tacoma I could find on carmax website at the location in Texas for sale is this one. And this one isn’t a long bed or a higher end model. Mine is a sport sr5. Of course mine is a few years older and about 20k miles more, but it was the closest I could find. So I’d guess they would have flipped mine for ~$25k

Great mileage for a 2013, but that can't be right. Stealership must be at least $10K above blue book value.

Ok so I just did some online searching of the pre-owned inventory at my "local" stealerships and made some calls to confirm...they're pricing at this same level! My truck got paid off after the standard 60 months note AND could still get close to $20K today?! Insanity! Makes me almost wanna rethink my "keeping it until she or I are ready to go" stance. These trucks are amazing in so many ways :mudding:

Look at the SR5 pricing here for a 2 year difference in a DCLB 2nd gen a ACLB 3rd gen:

That is close to KBB value. Craziness! Great for us as owners. Not good for us as buyers.
