What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

It was almost 90° here today.

 

I installed some Cali-Raised Bed Stiffeners. I did not research if they would work with a bedside first (which I would like to try at some point) so I am going to need to do some chop chop to get it to work lol

 

I recommend just selling them and buying a set of the Total Chaos ones (I have a pair for sale).

 

I thought about that but it would mean drilling more holes, unless the Total Chaos ones have the same bolt pattern. I just got a plasma cutter so I may just give that a shot. Do you know if the bolt pattern is the same for different stiffeners? My guess is no…

 

Like others have said, with proper maintenance, it'd be very weird for it to not hit 200k or even 250k. Unfortunately for me, the previous owner decided he didn't like changing the oil too often so there was some carbon buildup that I didn't see until i had to replace the valve cover gaskets. It crapped out right at about 195k and I now have a remanufactured engine with a 2 year 20k mile warranty.

 

Right? The AC in my office here in Orange County was a little on the cold side today, I almost had to roll my sleeves back down.

Pulled the engine! Decided v8’s are for losers gonna put the 4.0L back in.....

 

Since I bought my truck used almost 3 years ago, the horn hasn’t worked. Sounds with the alarm, but not the wheel. So finally got around to replacing the clock switch last night. Pretty quick and easy, the hardest part was finding the tools in my mess of a garage. (Got the switch on eBay for about $15. Maybe just lucky I got a good one?)




Had a back up plan just in case it didn’t go back together.

 

Picked up my new beef, Tcase skid and Trans skid (custom). 1/4inch with square tube gussets.

 

Bought it and started my needs to and wants to list which is already 25 items long.

2013 Access Cab TRD 4x4 in Mica with a shell w/170k miles. Bone stock, 1 owner with documented oil changes ever 5k miles.

Super stoked.

tweaked my design a little.

 

Installed a snorkel I found for a fraction of the price of the name brand units.. I assume they are made from the same factory as the plastic is high quality and all components/couplers/worm clamps were included. Was an easy install. Time to go snorkeling

I keep getting a dead battery since this is not my DD. Has anyone installed a Battery kill switch for this or theft deterrent purposes? Cant seem to find any threads in here on this

 

I don't see any warm temps on the horizon that will melt this crap until May. One day I was raking, the next day shoveling.

Saw my turd gen buddy at Mickey D's today and gave him crap about his illegal front window tint like I always do.

 

So I'm just starting to find mounts for my hi-lift with a softopper. They have to hang lower than most because of STopper. Did you make these or can you point me in the right direction. Thanks!
