Ah gotcha. Do cars usually cause a bunch of traffic delays driving through national parks?

 

Moreso the parking. Bryce Canyon is a disaster in the tourist months thanks to the small lots.

 

It’s ROCKtober this weekend. Should be a good time. Sounds like a lot of people are headed that way. I believe there is also a Jeep thing going on as well.

haha this is hilarious, a couple of friends and I were going to do the same thing this weekend then saw the weather warnings and just decided to hit up arches and canyonlands instead.

 

Dude it's projected to be -20! Not happening!

 

If you go into Moab be prepared for traffic. Traffic was backed up a mile past arches national park to get into town due to construction and it was just as bad heading the opposite way through town. It took us two hours to get out of town.
EDIT: should say this was last weekend.

 

Anyone know where to camp near Goblin Valley? Preferably something free lol. Just looking to get away for a bit tonight and tomorrow. Other suggestions welcome.

 

yeah, took me 1.5 hours to get into town last weekend...I ended up shouting at the bike riders on the bike path, "go faster! pedal faster dammit!" just to entertain myself.

I've only gon ethere once and camped near the trailhead my friends and I were gonna be doing. forget what it was called. :shrug:

 

We were told last weekend was the busiest it’s been all year, atleast that’s what the cashier at chevron said.

 

Right before you get to the park, the is a road heading off to your right towards little wild horse trailhead. Take that road, turn off it onto any of the many side roads, and camp. Endless options out there.

 

I'll be im Moab next week.

 

Are going for the 4x4 Expo, or just going?

 

Have any of you guys done a 2lo mod for the 6speed manual in a 2nd gen? A user used to make a plug n play kit but is no longer producing them and I really would like it for moving my raft around. I know you can manually complete the wiring on your own but wiring is far from my strong suit.

 

We may try to catch some of it but its not in the plans.

 

Not any better this weekend. Narrows to one lane right before the Colorado River overpass. Stay in the right lane, it moves significantly quicker to the merge. It takes about a half hour to get from the light at Arches into town.

But, the scenery is still good!

Did some fishing saturday and caught my biggest rainbow to date. This one weighed in at just over 6lbs and I caught a handful more that were 4-5lbs. I'm going back in a couple weeks to try and get into the 10lbers

Apparently the record for the coldest temperatures for this time of year was broken...old record was 22......in 1878. Now it's 20. holy shit it was cold yesterday.
