Might be a different scenario. I think @Ritchie is located close by.

Diamond didn't take long to get my order out to me. I ordered 2 custom 69wms 9.5 centered housing, provided diamond my 80 balls after i paid in full for the front and use their FF ends for the rear. I received the rcv, ff chromo shaft, diamond drive flange and all necessary parts in 6 week after payment was made. And that includes 4 day travel with UPS. That's faster than my buddy with his ruffstuff 8" centered bare housing, RS took 9 weeks. So I guess I'll be waiting for RS too....

idk guess it’s luck of the draw lol. Myself and several others had serious communication issues with Diamond.
Ruff stuff is good to communicate and my first housing took 6 weeks but was ends and other stuff. 2Nd was 4 weeks and this one is supposed to be 2. Guess it depends who you talk to.

Man I wanted a RS housing, but they pushed dates back for over a year while I was waiting for one and grabbed a Camburg housing. @02hilux yeah distance makes things worse in some cases, but I guess I don't really know more about them as a company lately even though I live one town over from RST I got involved in trucks right after their presence peaked on here and then they kind of went underground. I bought a set of leafs off of one of their guys that had done a lot of fab work on their popular builds before becoming a welding inspector. I'd be interested to know how many similar stories there are.

As @malburg114 mention, luck of the draw. I'm a few hours from RS and during that time when I ordered these diamond housing, RS wasn't taking housing order at all. Which end up being a good thing for me because I would have probably regret making the purchase. They estimated maybe 6-8 months out because of new machine/setup process. Purchasing RS housing will be cheaper overall because I would have drove there to pick them up versus having the axle ship, which cost me roughly $400 through diamond to ship. But what made my mind was the fact that I didn't like RS FF ends, I want a functioning ebrake drotor like diamond. Some offroad events require the vehicle to have a functioning ebrake or line lock in place and I didn't want to deal with adding a line lock.

@Ritchie is your truck at RST or is he still sourcing parts for the 3 link rear?

Is this a front or rear axle? Are you using Toyota hubs? I got the GM Eldorado calipers from RS on my F69 for a mechanical e brake and (found out later) Solid Axle Industries sells another e-brake brake kit I could have got also.

I ordered a set, front and rear axle. LC80 ball with all 80 components and hellfire knuckle for the front. The rear is FF using toyota IFS hub and SA spindle with GX brake setup and fj cruiser L&R ebrake cables.

Nice, all Toyota parts. Before going to the F9 I bought the SOS rear conversion kit with the FJ / 4runner d rotor setup - nice parts availability for that. Also was going to consider the FROR FF conversion to add to a Tundra axle, but adding the cost / time it would take to make it, I figured 35 spline FF made sense.

Yeah on a prerunner it makes more sense where you get the width and are using your momentum and don't need to clear obstacles.

I ended up with an FJ80 FF rear because I was looking at the costs of all these rear disc brake kits and realized I can save $200+ on a brake kit and get upgraded strength.

Yep. A few months ago, we finished an 80ff elock rear with nitro chromo for a 3rd gen runner on 40s setup with leaf. I think overall cost was around 1600ish with nitro shaft, perch, new bearings and all. Sold his elock 5.29 rear for 1k, so the difference of $600 is a no brainer upgrade. Drives smooth, straight, and no vib with the offset third. Even use the LC rear abs sensor and worked for his speedometer too.

Front was a Toyota mini truck outers with 8 in center with leaf springs so I had to send knuckles balls, they turned em in a lathe and the notched the center section for the perch so I wasn’t to
Mad about the lead time and it was custom length.

second was just a bare housing. I put solid axle industry full float kit on it and now the current one I’m waiting on is bare as well. Will get kingpin outers with solid axle industry hubs

Im also running a fj80 rear axle, They are a perfect fit for 1st gen tacoma's. I've been down the custom width axle road and I'm not so sure the cost is worth it. I really just prefer to use something that's mostly in stock form, just seems like so many less headaches in the long run.
