Probably due to all the storms and hurricanes we have had this year.

I'd say storms like Maner said and also parts to build them are possibly on backorder with all the places that shut down cause of the rona.

Complete first world problem but my projector lamp blew Monday night. No one has an official branded one that I trust in stock. The best one i can find says it will be in stock in 2 to 4 weeks but I'm betting it won't be.

May or may not be 'rona related. Probably not.

I did the passenger side wheel bearing last week because it sounded like that was the side that was bad. I was wrong. The noise was still there. Took the drivers side off just now and found the culprit.

The bearing itself looked okay, the race is what is messed up. Can’t complain at 201k miles :D

She gone. There’s a little discoloration on the outside where it’s been getting hot.

Little toasty in there lol. Any particular reason on the National Bearings instead of Timken or Moog?

Only reason is because it's what O'Reilly auto parts had near me. The old one is a Timken.

You could have also ramped up the voltage on a tig or mig and just laid a bead on it, the slammed it against a piece of wood. Thats how we did my rear bearing retainers. The heat creates enough of gap that it will come off. Looks like you got it off cleanly though

Do you put your axel journal into the freezer and heat up your bearing race in the oven to help the install when reassembling your wheel bearings? Or do you just squeeze tighter with the 20t press?

Sometimes we freeze stuff or heat it, depending on what it is. This one I'll just press it in with the 20t press :D

We do tons of bearings here at the mine and the magnetic bearing heater is great.

Got the 2 long welds done on the tank bottom. I could have gone ahead and welded all 4 sides of the bottom today but that would produce even more strain in the glass than welding 2 sides causes, and I happen to only have an exact number of pieces for these things. Better safe than sorry so ill anneal again tonight and make the final welds tomorrow. After that it'll have to be annealed again before grinding it flat again lol glass is a pain in the ass.

We put the work pieces in large ovens or kilns that heat the whole part evenly over a few hours and then they cool overnight, this even heating removes the strain caused by heating isolated areas.
