    Thank you sir :hattip:

Gotta admit, it's a slightly different rush than hunting with a rifle.

My wife would rather crossbow hunt than gun hunt.

This dude showed up this week. If he comes out in front of our son he may get shot when rifle season comes in. That’d be a cool first buck for an 8 year old.

This one is getting closer to being in shooting light. My wife has two weeks at him with the crossbow then muzzle loader comes in the 31st and I get to go that morning :D

My dad has hunted with a 742 30-06 since 1974. His has the high rise mounts but a few years ago the front sight fell off burn in nearly positive everything he ever killed was scoped anyway.

This one had the see thru mounts when I got it, but the old scope and mounts were replaced with the Leupold and medium height rings.

I had one like it. But it was in .30 Rem
My uncle gave it to me. He shot his first deer with it. His uncle gave it to him.
I kept up the tradition and gave it to my nephew.

I didnt realize there were so many people that used the Rem. pumps and semi autos. I still carry my bolt gun some but love my pump. got it slicked up enough you can almost cycle it with a down/up jerk holding the stock.and im left handed so it suits me well.

I've never looked up what years they made the Sportsman 74 Auto, 1984 to 1987. Kmart had been sitting on mine for a while if my parents bought it in 1991. I remember when they bought it they had 2 in stock. A friend of mine bought the other one and sold it not long afterwards.
