I am afraid if I go any bigger than the 9 I'll be tempted to stuff more shit in it than I should. I think either option look solid though.

I've been pretty happy with my Django Designs go pro mount. Was a little nervous at first about how solid it was but it definitely grips well.

    Cool cool!

    I found this one
    https://www.kuryakyn.com/products/6443/kuryakyn-by-kellermann-rhombus-s-collection

and I think these mount plates will work perfectly. Well they look like they would anyway. I think I could actually make those instead of buying them actually.....maybe

Ya those might look better for your bike. I was going for as sleek as possible for mine. I’ll probably go with the first ones I linked because they’re really small. But that won’t happen for a while

I'm going to have to get something soon before another one breaks off and I look like a fool with a dangling blinker flapping in the wind

depends what kind of stuff you get into. its great for snacks but honestly wearing a backpack makes me hot, it blocks a lot of airflow.

be sure to look in the sales section. thats where i got mine, but i already had a bladder so that wasnt necessary for me

Really just would use it for hydration in the summer, and hold cold weather gear and snacks in the winter. Still torn between a ranger 9 or the patriot 15. Wouldn't be for camping or anything like that, just nourishment on long days. Based on that, you think I am better off sticking with the smaller ranger 9 vs patriot 15?

Why don't you consider a tail bag? I have the Motofizz size medium from Aerostitch and it's an awesome piece of gear. 2 water bottle holders on the outside sides, multiple ways to open, large enough interior space and a bungie type cargo net on the outside top for stuff that doesn't fit inside.

Yeah that would be awesome so I can compare it to @Wheelspinner's 9.

I have one and it's stuffed with a spare tube and tools. Eventually the tools will go into a canister and I will have space in the bag again though. I did not like that it kept hitting me in the butt on technical sections, bit I don't think I will be moving it either.

I've used mine on the FJR so not really carrying many tools...... Nice to arrive at your destination with 2 full flasks of libations though.

I had a black lab run out and latch onto my leg once. I was only going about 15 at the time. Broke the skin but not by much. I was interning that summer and staying in the lake home of a local attorney. He marched down to the house and took care of business real fast.

I can’t begin to explain how excited I am right now. 1984 ATC70. All original, one owner, zero maintenance. It’ll be a project, but I’m pumped.

Motor still has compression but I’ll have to test how much exactly.

    Hell yeah!

FWIW I get most of my CT90 parts from this site, Beatrice Cycle - http://dratv.com/noname171.html They seem to usually have everything from carb parts to body parts to appropriate vintage decals for basically every horizontal honda engine out there.

From what I gather these engines are pretty bullet proof but the carbs are shit. I’m going to get into it slowly.

My 1969 engine still runs great on the original carb. If you have the OG carb you should be good, it's the chinese replacement carbs that normally suck from what I see.

CT90's and CT70's are basically the same engine aside from the pull start vs. kick start. So easy to work on and rebuild. I'm guessing a new spark plug, fresh oil, quick timing and valve check, and a really good carb cleaning and it'd be back in business running again.

I’m going to PM you once I dig into it but it definitely looks like it needs very little to get going again. Very little rust considering that it lived outside covered by a tarp for the past 30 years.

It was 50 riding into work this morning and 81 leaving. I generally wear thermals under my gear and pack it in the bag on the way home if it’s warm.

I do look the long way (choose direction) part though with my suit. It does a really good job blocking the wind and has the liners for rain that works really well.

I'm having fearful flashbacks. Haven't been on one of those since 1991.
