Ha I just asked the same thing. The wait time is the killer for a new one. I know there are also some issues. Trying to convince myself not to get the alu-cab haha. Can't justify 16k after building it out how I want.

    Sadly, not much.
Yeah, I imagine he will be able to get that from one of us!

    I just can't justify the cost...wish I could!

I'd love to hear how it does around here, with landmarks that we all know. Seems like it'd be great for trips out to the woods, but it seems difficult to know just HOW much it'll help.

Local to me I only have one dead spot... I'll have to do some driving and turning it on and off a bunch to see a diff. A friend has an older version, and he says it works good. But as they say most places online, it only helps if you have a crappy signal, if there is no signal there is nothing to boost. Crappy becomes decent/good, nothing stays nothing.

Don't do it for anywhere near $6k.

The ceiling panel is a burned mashmallow.
The hinges haven't been replaced and fail spectacularly with the door ripping off and hitting you in the head and the rest of your trip, all your stuff is exposed to the elements.
Those orange powdercoated mild steel tubes on the front and rear rust and drip onto the truck and rear of the camper leaving stains.

And a whole list of other issues like leaking, etc with the early GFCs.

I do. I'm about to put them on the 2nd gen after I get some TPMS sensors in them.

Yeah, not trying to hate on GFC, I almost picked one up myself a few months before the Vagabond, but it's not worth paying new for a well used and what I would call a prototype camper with all the early issues. Not sure if any issues other than the hinges and front/rear tubes have been "solved".

Seems like he's really valuing the whole immediate gratification (as opposed to sitting in their production queue) a little too much! At least caught my eye, because it seems like used wedge campers are essentially unobtanium around here.

I had some on an old 3rd gen 4runner. Loved the look of them and want some on my 2nd gen one day.

This - and I've noticed that mine wont make data better (just voice) in some areas depending on the specific band the cell signal is on vs what the weboost picks up. Either way, extra confidence in emergencies but don't expect to be watching netflix in death valley.

People need to learn to download shows from Netflix BEFORE they go out! Works on Prime, too!! :D
