Ya. I’ve been holding off upgrading the bumpers until a point I see a use for them. I think I found a good use for one.

    1. Two high liftS with base plates to distribute load under the sliders.

    2. lift enough to get the front wheels above the level high ground.

    3. Traction boards/bridge under wheels, doubled up maxtrax would work famously.

    4. back out

    5. Don’t drive in construction sites unless you have authorized access, and know where potential hazards are.

Might need to upgrade to at least 60s.

This year I’ve been to the Gilbert OHV park 4 times, Spider Lake trails 3 times, and Frontenac Farms twice all without getting stuck once. And then this construction site defeats me. If you aren’t getting stuck you aren’t wheeling hard enough?

Sorry OP. Can you buy them some doughnuts or something and have them pull you out with the tractor?

The really stupid thing is that I knew the crevice was there. I had considered climbing the slope at its end with my wheels straddling the crevice, but decided that was more risk than I needed. Slightly later, in a moment of brilliance, I drove into it.

Ya I figured it could go two different ways for me. Either they would laugh or they would be pissed. I already talked to the police and everything is ok as long as I get it out soon. There isn’t much actual work happening at the site.

Wrecker #2 failed. Now They are bringing the “winch box” which is some sort of tracked vehicle with a winch with the added ability of being able to anchor itself to the ground. The driver said that it was going to be a challenge. It’s not like it’s on the side of a mountain. I think we haven’t perfected the art of off road recovery in Minnesota. At least I seem to have presented them with a fun challenge they don’t get to solve every day.

No, you're just in the cities where apparently the most challenging offroad recovery is getting stuck in a construction site.

    hot damn

buddy of mine had to get an anchored truck to do that once. He slipped into a ditch on an ice covered road up north. Truck stuck the spike in the ground and winched him out in 30 seconds

Believe me, if there were better places to get stuck near me, I wouldn’t have gotten stuck in a construction site.

Yes I want to see this "winch box" and maybe a video of them struggling.

I doubt it is anything too exciting. Probably one of these or something similar.

I don’t think the actual recovery will be too exciting. I think they are just struggling with how to get a recovery vehicle into position due to the snow, mud, and steep slopes. I do plan to video tape it with my phone though

No charge for the failures, but the winch box is spendy partly because they have to trailer it to the location.
