Round those parts I don't trust anyone that says NO RUST like that ad. These frames rot easily and you can take care on the outside while it becomes paper thin from the inside. You just live where it's unwise to buy anything older than a couple years

the 02s frame is beautiful inside the frame.. its original to the truck. the outsides getting crusty. but im going to pull the bed and clean all that up.

the 3m cavity wax WORKS WONDERS inside the frame rails. this truck had it done when it was new.. no undercoating, just 3m cavity wax inside the frame rails. i check with a bore scope every oil change so if i do see something i can address it quickly

    Wait...what?

You could get the coilbucket reinforcement done at the same time to get your LT installed.

painting the outside of the frame does nothing, its the inside that needs attention.
you want 3m wax or a coating like eastwoods internal coating..

i found a tiny rust hole in my rocker panel. its literally 1.2mm big found it today. they're going to fix that issue and redo the cable grommets for the cab which caused the rust. one of them popped loose and let water in. its a minor fix also my tailgate is going to be fixed as well as couple of dents from the PO.
