I find the SBG Scout pedals quite well. I have ridden it a couple seasons without ever really using the shock platform. The last few rides I spent some time playing around with climbing and riding smoother pedally trails in the middle platform setting and it for sure felt a bit more responsive. Still I've been really happy with seated pedal efficiency as well as tech climbing with the shock open. If you try and stand and mash on flatter terrain obviously you're going to get some movement with a horst link setup.

do the sentinel. What/where do you ride? I've had mine for 2 years and am still planning on thrashing it for another year. Gone through it a few times and have a few recs. Happy to help in anyway possible!

Build plan dilemma for you riders!:

Just got back from a 4500 mile road trip. Smart guy that I am, I put the bikes on the roof to give us ease of access to the bed of the truck where we were living for about a month. Great idea on paper, but I forgot that it makes my truck about 12 feet tall and sucks the last little bit of power out of it as a giant sail.

We're planning to spend more time living out of the truck so I'm debating a rak attach, wilco hitch swing thing, or trying to do a bumper with a swing out with a hitch on the swing and forget the idea of jerry cans or any of that.

Rak Attach is the cheapest option but leaves something to be desired as far as departure angles. Definitely not making anything better.

Wilco (high clearance) thing is sweet, but a pretty chunk of change for a hitch add on. Benefit of potentially adding a table/ other recovery gear options. Heavy.

Bumper: expensive AF. hitch makes it complicated. lots of choices. Heaviest option, but not by a lot. Thinking doing a coastal offroad and finding a friendly TW member to help/trade/pay

    What would you all do??

I have a one up and it’s awesome. No issues over a few years. I keep it when I Want to fill up the bed but not a fan having a bike on the rack and an empty bed

thanks , I’ve had a few and they never disappoint. Tom makes some awesome frames

Can’t believe I’m even saying this...but a 2021 SWorks stumpy frame for $2800 seems like a killer deal.

I know right...and they show in stock for micro people sizes.

Just when I was about to commit to a different bike :annoyed:

I’d do the bumper route and add a hitch to the swing out - platform rack for bikes in that.

Not interested in an epic. Stumpy only.

The on paper geo may be a dealbreaker though. Not loving what I’m seeing. Numbers don’t always tell the story, but stand over is something I pay pretty close attention to.

Oh was the one I shared the epic? I didn’t know haha. I just love the darker green color. Literally my dream bike color combo there. I think Rocky Mountain is the only other bike I’ve seen in a dark green

I think the stumpjumper evo with slx is a fair price considering the price of its competition.

Really the only money saved now with consumer direct or online is tax savings.

That depends on so many factors, not the least of which is what you’re riding most often, fitness, and skill.
    For me, no hesitation. Wrecker.
If I didn’t have the terrain for it though, a Following.
**Doesn't have to be an Evil bike though. Loved my Spartan/Django combo.

I’ve said this before, and it’s not a popular opinion, but mid travel bikes are a compromise on all fronts. I’ll never own one again.

Love the green, not a fan of the “S”.

If I’m making the decision on a one bike quiver, I’m going longer travel and sacrificing climbing ability all day. Climbing is a means to an end for me. YMMV. Hence, my decision in August.

Edit: Someone talk me down or buy it. Guy is selling a 2020 Evil Calling for $2000. I want it.
