I figure I can ask a straight question here and get a straight answer.

Anyone here use a Scangauge or similar to monitor their coolant temps? What are y’all seeing in stop and go traffic in hot climates?

 

Can’t help you. But I've always wanted either a Scan or Ultra gauge.

Just looking for a data point. The needle on the gauge is basically a “replace engine” light as far as I’m concerned. I see 186-190 most of the time but enough stop and go will push it as high as 198. Coolant isn’t low, and the fan clutch seems to be working appropriately.

 

198 doesn't sound too bad in my opinion.

Something different for the morning greeting.

 

Boiling is the issue. Our trucks run in that area. You can run hi and as long as the truck isn’t boiling the water will cool.
I use a UltraGauge blue. Never put in a temp for coolant. You know what’s normal range on the gauge in your truck. Run with it..


I use instant fuel mileage on most of my auto scrolling screens. Fun to see how little pressure on the pedal changes fuel 5 to 7 mpg.

 

I got nothing but I ate the MEGA BAD ASS BLT and it was damn good.

Yeah it has 2 fried eggs, thick ass bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise, salt/ pepper and is on sourdough bread. Can’t eat it often but every once in awhile it’s good.
