Had an epic hunt recently. Think I have mentioned in here before the saloon tokens are some of my favorite things to find. I blocked out the town name on this one. Without going in to too much detail I will just say there is only one other known example of this particular token, and the value listed in the token catalog for one of them is more than my ctx3030 cost new. I would never sell any of my finds but it is cool knowing the value / rarity. I have always wanted to find an un known token, soooooo close.

    Holey crap!!!
    You are killing it!!
Tokens are very cool. My buddy found a hotel token that is really neat. We have been looking for another local token that is very rare, but nothing so far. I have seen regional Token ID Guides, but haven't sprung for one (yet).

My detecting buddy has an Ebay store dedicated to buying and selling tokens, he is like an encyclopedia on them. Its definitely a niche, he has a little circle of friends that collect these nv tokens. He is on a mission to collect all of the known tokens in NV but admits it will be near impossible... It's crazy what some of the rare tokens are worth. I really need to pick up one of those token catalogs for our area.

20201027_202911.jpg hit up a beach area near me, Nothing real old. Some broken dream pendant looks like half that complete would have said "just friends"o_O a key and a heart pendant. Found tons of bottle tops go figure. And a weird rock looks like petrified wood but maybe just looks like it

I guess I should go through my change more often. I used to have all the error coins memorized that you might come across up to 1990, but I don't remember that one

Occasionally new errors are discovered on older coins. You might have an undiscovered error in your pocket right now...

Is that an error in your pocket or are you just happy to see me??

You might chat him up if you see him again. He may be part of a club. Or he may know where the good stuff is buried.

Okay people, my sister and I were busier than shi* while out in Iowa and MAN it was COLD MOST of the time!!!

As far as MD'ing, NOT much done at all, but I did show a good friend of ours that lives out there, her grand daughter, who is autistic, how to metal detect... well, I TRIED as hard as I could at least. :notsure:

Very bright kid though and very good manors.

Anyways, as I'm sweeping, there were many IRON and some times FOIL signals and I didn't have a whole lot of time to spend, but what I did, I enjoyed very much either way. HAHAHAHA, I told her that all I was finding was "junk" and she replies, "I like junk..." Sooooo, I guess I'm digging "JUNK"? :notsure:

Sure enough it was an OLD nail and she was happy over it... like super stoked??? :notsure::laughing::laugh::rofl::rofl::rofl::facepalm:

It was all good as it put a HUGE smile on her face and she wanted a HIGH 5!!!

If things work out, I'm likely going back in April of next year. There are still some things to do, but it will be less "business" and less cleanup.

Very busy, very cold, and not a whole lot of time to get things done. BUT, at least I put a smile on a face.:fistbump: I never seen anyone so stoked about junk???:facepalm::laughing::laugh::rofl::rofl::rofl:

What's gonna be great about next year, if I have enough vacay time, there will definitely be way more time to "relax".

I don't know if I had posted a picture, but here it is if I didn't? My sister and I did quite a bit of work.
    IMG_20201023_095710765.jpg

Since both of us were spending quite a bit on cash as it was, we spent the night inside my dad's shed/garage that we were clearing out. About 90% of the stuff we packed for the trip was my camping gear. We talked about what to do a few weeks before the trip and that was our best option. The nights were dipping in the mid to low 30's... it was COLD, but it wasn't tooooo bad with how I set it up. Here's the shed...
    IMG_20201023_155352392.jpg

Here's the tent I happen to own, as well as my 2x man tent that I brought for "backup", but never put it up... This is an 8x man tent and it's a long story, but put short, I bought it way back when my mom was still alive when we had taken her camping one time.
    IMG_20201023_094838764.jpg

The inside. I had setup my 2x burner stove on top of some old bricks and I also brought my single burner stove. When I cooked, I opened the "windows" and no "rain fly", so plenty of ventilation. I was more worried about things tipping over than any "harmful fumes"!!! HAHAHAHAHA,:goingcrazy::laughing::laugh::rofl::rofl::rofl:IMG_20201023_093921594.jpg
    Our "beds" and the mutts!!!
    IMG_20201023_093854481.jpg

Btw, the little stand up verticle heater, which was putting out really good heat, but it was so damn cold at night, it couldn't heat the inside of the tent fast enough.

Not gonna lie, it was miserable at times, but also kinda fun in a way. It made me constantly thinking about how "cave men" lived back in the day or the Mayans, etc etc etc???:crapstorm::goingcrazy:

To have good "insulation", I opened one sleeping bag completely and used it as the barrier between us and the floor... plus it made things more cushiony... then 2-3x layers of blankets for each of us and the mutts slept next to us under the layers, then another sleeping bag over the top of us. So we were all basically "sandwiched" and it worked out really well.

All in all, very busy trip, but it was also fun at the same time.

On our drive back home my sister was like, "I'm gonna miss our little 'home', what about you?" And I'm like... "o_O:smack::smack::smack:, ummmmm, NO!!!":laughing::laugh::rofl::rofl::rofl:
