Dealer damaged truck during warranty repair and now they don’t want me back

    After this I called Toyota corporate and had a case manager. Its been three months. And many services. The striker and door have been adjusted 3 times which that caused paint damaged the dealer refused to fix. And the case manager is useless had a technical field specialist look at it and they said nothing was wrong. But the striker was move apparently for no reason and the door is still no right. After the (tfs) looked at it they said they would fix the damaged the next day they said they wouldn’t. And I have to pay out of pocket. I’ve driven to these dealers about 10 times and they don’t want me back. On one after noon one dealer put almost 40 miles on truck. Any recommendations.

    OP, I've tried reading and re-reading your post numerous times and still can't comprehend what you are trying to explain.

    try another dealer or it'll be out of pocket.

    and why would they take a 40 mile trip w/ your truck?

    Have you documented it, with pictures, in a certified letter to the Dealer? Give them 10 days to fix it or you will seek counsel. Don’t bluff. Be ready to have an attorney write a letter to start the mediation process if your letter gets no results. Document each time you took your car to the Dealer in the letter.

    Everyone thinks threatening legal action will scare people. The truth is, that dealership probably/should have legal on retainer and 100x the money to deal with people threatening to sue them. You'd end up spending so much on legal fees it would be cheaper to fix the issue yourself.

    Agreed, and if you ever take a big company to small claims court (no attorneys) they'll file to bump it up to civil court making you get a lawyer.

    I would just contact another dealer if that is an option. If this dealer already damaged your truck, why return there if you have a legitimate warranty concern.

    The door striker fix it yourself it’s probably upside down . It’s really easy all you have to do is unscrew the 2 screws flip it around push the striker up a little bit and tighten it down . I had the same issue in my 20 I fixed it my dam self lol mechanics were clueless lol . Best of luck man .

    JUST CURIOUS, on a 2020 you had to adjust you door striker.. Are you saying it was upside down. WHY PLEASE ???

    Theres some problems with some 2020 Tacoma’s doors. The door didn’t close right so the dealer attempted to fix it 3 times. But damaged the paint in the process and that’s not covered under warranty

    This here! Doesn't make it right, but the world ain't fair. Hope you get it figured out OP. I'd try a different dealer. I wouldn't want anyone working on my truck who doesn't appreciate my patronage.

    No clue ... the striker apparently goes a specific way . Maybe assembled at the plant incorrectly.my door was having closing and opening issues and wasn’t sitting flush . Once I flipped it did a slight adjustment Problem solved no more door issue .

    Damn, 5 years of research and he ended up with an 01 Tacoma. And I thought @Taco_mike73 did a lot of research before purchasing :D
