Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

It's actually the last one I was working on before we started really increasing the tip-in. I was getting 18mpg with that one. Up from 14-15. It's my go to tune if I need to back track or go on a trip.

It reminds of the ole Android root days, with CyanogenMod and all the others. Those were fun days.

 

hell yeah they were. I just can't resist loading a new tune and seeing how it performs. Waiting for that damn! this is the one! moment is a blast.

Will there ever be a 2.0 release for people with catted dump tubes? I feel kind of bad for having paid $700 for the parts just to have a check engine light with the current 2.0 release. I have submitted a ticket but all I got back was to "reflash" which didn't help, the code is for Bank 1 and 2 catalytic converter efficiency low. I have the OVTune catted dump tubes and stock secondary cats, been like this for six months.

 

speaking if dump tubes, are there any tunes on the vf tune thread for catted or non-catted dump tubes?

I'm still running the original tune for the catless dump tubes. There never was another released (yet?) for 04B04.

 

I remember last year I was running the 1.05 catless tune and it was the only one that didnt throw a code for me. Seems like such a shame to give up 2.0s awesome shifting though!

Get vF. Select a tune. There’s 2 changes you make for dump tubes. Then you can enjoy the 2.0 goodness.

I'll have to check my file name but I thought my catless was a 2.0 specific tune when it first came out.

 

Yes I think you are right, it was a file from the beta site. Those files have now been removed right?

 

honestly, I have no idea, seems like forever ago, and theres been a lot of other tunes released since.
