No safety inspection in CA. I am originally from NY and the safety inspection was tough. Smog inspection is much less intrusive.

Today - Installed some Diode Dynamics SS3 Sport Yellow Fogs. Need to go for a spin tonight and check em out in the dark. Aligned/leveled to match stock beam pattern on my garage door.

NC emissions inspections they just run tests to check OBDII codes, quit doing exhaust emissions tests years ago. I had a 2007 Chevy Colorado P0017 code and could not get it to pass, truck ran fine, didn’t use too much oil or smoke, but 2 mechanics said camshaft play was too much and the best way to fix it was to install another engine. Traded it in on my Tacoma. I could afford it but someone who didn’t have much money would have been hosed just over a code. Bureaucrats and politicians suck.

Field trip day for me. Drove down from Saint Augustine to Kennedy Space Center for the SpaceX launch only to have it scrub at T-14 minutes for a faulty camera on the second stage.

No big deal, toured the Center and then drove over to Canaveral National Seashore that borders KSC. Stumbled upon the new Artemis mobile launch platform doing fitment tests at LC-39B. Took some pictures on the drive in, and then hiked down the beach to the perimeter fencing for a real close up.

Pictures are a little sketchy due to the high humidity and rain storm moving in from off the coast. Started to monsoon after the last picture so got soaked on the walk back to the truck. Not the most comfortable two hour ride home but worth it. DSCN0666.jpg DSCN0671.jpg DSCN0674.jpg

I upgraded my on board air. Nothing wrong with what I had, I just wanted to save some more time. Install is a breeze after you remove the airbox, ha. GTFO Expedition bracket in case anyone was wondering.

Any reason you went with a pass side mount over driver?

How is that a counter to what was posted?

I don't believe there have been 7 Toyota tune updates for a 2016 truck. Or a 2018.....or a 2020. I could be mistaken but I don't think so. I think there are more OVTune updates than Toyota. How many 2.0 "final" OV tunes have there been? Oh, except 2.0 still isn't actually final (tow, ect mode)! And the excuse of "every truck is different" (with the same spec/mods) gets old fast. Then there is the every changing commitments and delay, delay, delay.

The 2020 owner you responded to has the latest Toyota tune which is a ton better than came on my 2016 (now mostly corrected by newer Toyota tunes). That said there are a large number of people who are happy with the OV Tune and apparently would have sold their truck without it.

But OV Tune does not cure cancer.

I'm interested in OVTune, but their purchasing options are weird and there doesn't seem to be a clear "buy this and you're good" package.

Lack of documentation seems to be a pattern with a lot of offroad products. Support can sometimes be excellent, but I'd rather just get the right documentation and info I need pre-sale without having to talk to someone.

I had mine tuned from a guy in Louisiana @PapaRee , it definitely made my truck drive so much better. Wish I would have gotten it done sooner.

As a forward: I'm all about doing what we can to help save and preserve our environment/planet. The day mankind can step away from gasoline and move to a vehicle and/or form of transportation that is 100% safe for us and the environment, I'll applaud that change. Until then, we are where we are.

Now, unlike CA and a lot of the states on the "left coast," Mississippi has ZERO inspections. None whatsoever.

We used to have one at a cost of $5 per year. And it wasn't something ran by the gov't. It was ran by Bubba at his local garage. They usually checked your headlights, windshield for cracks, turn signals, tail lights, brake lights, and operation of windshield wipers. That was it. No inspection on your emissions.

Then 2015, the state legislature did away with them completely. Thank God.

They honestly were pointless. Probably "joke" would be a better description. If a front windshield was cracked just so much, it wouldn't pass inspection. And a number of times, I had to depend on a "Bubba" to pass me on inspection so I'd be good for another year (a la cracked windshield). And to quote Garth Brooks: I have friends in low places.

I understand why those states on the west coast (and elsewhere) have inspections. They have much bigger populations than Mississippi. And with that, more vehicles on their roadways. And there are certainly environmental concerns there with that many more vehicles on roadway.

But I'd still prefer my Missi'ppi way. :)

Looks nice! On a scale of 1-10, how much of a pain was it?

No. Not really. I live in statistically one of the safest towns in the country:thumbsup: we don’t lock our front doors!o_O plus I have a power tailgate lock and a tonneau cover so you’d have to pry it open to get to them and know they were there in the first place. I figure, out of sight, out of mind:D

I got my truck back from Kendall Toyota of Bend today after they completed the installation of my Magnuson supercharger kit. Thanks to the @The_Mule for the suggested modification of the JLT bracket and the mounting relocation.
