I got my truck back from Kendall Toyota of Bend today after they completed the installation of my Magnuson supercharger kit. Thanks to the @The_Mule for the suggested modification of the JLT bracket and the mounting relocation.

I was very impressed on the short drive back to the hotel. I’ll be driving back to Portland tomorrow so I’ll have deeper thoughts after that.

I have lived in CA for 40 years and have NEVER had an inspection. I don’t know WTF you are talking about.

I only lived there for 38 years and moved in 2017.

I think most people’s idea of “inspection” in California is from states that have real inspections that make sure that your vehicle is safe to drive. California doesn’t care at all if your lights work, your tires are bald, you have a cracked windshield, you have one lug nut on each wheel, nothing. You might get pulled over for any one of those issues once you are on the road, but they won’t keep you from registering. All they care is that your OBD2 sensors are ready and there are no CELs AND that they can’t see anything obvious under the hood that isn’t stock. If they do find something and you don’t have a CARB exemption for it, you don’t pass.

Agreed about the environment. However, I do believe that we will one day transition away from gasoline and whatever new technology we develop will ultimately bring about an entirely new set of issues. But nothing is perfect and the world has evolved long before us and will continue long after us too.

Michigan doesn't have inspections either, which is very nice. There are other laws on the books in regards to those things, but that doesn't stop people from, say, rolling coal anyway. But no annual inspection.

Not to answer for anyone but to offer my opinion. The biggest PIA was to 4x4 trim swap. Being you need to take the whole assembly apart.

I am in no way mechanical when it comes to vehicles and this is my first Tacoma. However, there a ton of how to videos on YouTube that are helpful. Take your time and enjoy the transformation.

if I were to rate it, I’d give it a 4

for reference, here is my interior blackout.

Not sure but it was cool to see the progress of the install on instagram. You can request to be on YouTube but I did not.

Yeah, I kind of wish this was the case as well but their space does not seem that big considering the volume they do. Also, they recommend driving the truck for 200 miles first before an alignment so the suspension can settle. They also gave some solid advice as far as finding a shop to do the alignment correctly.

I ordered it from Empire Off-Road. At first, I wanted to cancel the order but decided ahh.. let's just try it. Now, I'm loving the aesthetic.

I keep my plate on while off grid. I'd used the winch three times and haven't come across removing it. In Commiefornia front license plate is required except Tesla.
