I want to get a GMRS setup as well eventually. For now I'm using CB as that's what the guys I usually roll with are running.

    Thanks James.

They’re both dirt cheap at $20/$25. I’m a cb novice. I don’t see my setup changing

    unless I get a soft topper/shell :spending:
    down the road.

@Thatbassguy I’ll probably get the Firestick II . Your signal was pretty damn strong every time I heard you on the mic.

Ha. I do need to add the PA horn under the hood!
That PA/CB switch hasn’t been tested yet.

    Both are retuneable, adjustable
I have never seen the firestick 2 but have years with the oringal stick so I would probably go with it.

If I'm not mistaken, the original needs to be cut to tune. So, once you tune it, you can't go longer again.

The one I have you can shorten and lengthen as many times as you want.

I'm sure they both work well.

I watched a video on youtube, and went out to a rural road to tune mine. @ajmogen helped, and we got the SWR very low on all channels.

The original has a set screw and a short piece of metal rod for adjusting, if the rod is not long enough we just replace with a nail shank, if it's too long to adjust just nip some off which is rarely needed.

    It’s the weekend!

If anyone is in the neighborhood tomorrow, driveway beers are on me around 11AM!
I've got Coors light, Spotted Cow, Miller Lite, and a few other miscellaneous beers. I’ll be setting up our Halloween display so stop on over!

Wish I could. Sounds better than being on conference calls and going through DOT plans all day.

Man, I hate working Fridays.

I realize this is a first world problem, but I used to almost never work on Friday unless it was OT. At least I got to sleep in today. :)
