My OR had the same damage on the passenger I was able to pop the thing out by heating it up a bit with a blow dryer.

    Lots, straight from the factory.
Ifyou hit the deer it’s your collision insurance. Not comprehensive. Not sure if this changes things for you, but I have deductibles of $500 collision, and $0 comprehensive.

Its not bad, tough to judge as its so different from the truck. I will say its quick though, and quiet, so I've been hitting 60+ way before I realized it.

Initial estimate just came back , $2400. Hood and quarter panel are fine. One metal support in front needs replaced, otherwise its all plastic pieces and the headlight/fog.

I'm thinking $2000 or so. New OEM parts, plus paint and install labor will get you there real quick.

I'm always surprised by the actual estimate cost being higher than it looks but that sure doesn't look bad. I bet the deer ran away, yes?

What's your deductible? I'd be tempted to try to use a heat gun and a lacrosse ball and roll it out first and see if you can get it good enough for gubment work. Did that to my wife's bumper which looked similar to this, and it came out 95% perfect. Good enough for us, and zero dollars spent.

Deer shook it off and was gone before I could get out of the truck.

Too many mounting tabs broken on the bumper cover, grill, foglight, headlight etc...

If it was just that corner and nothing popped maybe but nothing up there is worth trying to save.

    Nope.
Animal strikes while on a highway are covered under your comprehensive insurance. If you swerve to avoid a deer (and do) but end up hitting a tree, it is a collision.

Interestingly, the claim will not impact your insurance premium either, unlike most collision accidents. I struck an animal and my insurance company ended up with about a $186,000 bill when it was all said and done. My insurance actually went down at the next renewal date (!).

    COMPREHENSIVE COVERAGE VS. COLLISION COVERAGE
So, why does comprehensive coverage — not collision coverage — typically apply when your vehicle collides with a deer?

Hitting a tree or another car is different than the random and unpredictable act of a deer dashing across a highway or rural road. And comprehensive coverage helps cover damage to your car from random, unpredictable incidents, such as theft, fire and vandalism — or hitting a deer.

    ZIP TIES!

Honestly, if the bumper is already scrap if you go through insurance and they'll put a new one on, worth a shot to pop it back out and see if you can fix the mounts with some zip ties? The worst that happens is you end up in the same spot. Best that happens is you fix it to your liking.
