Yep once warmed up sitting around 600 on my 2020. And yeah I might notice a slight, I dont know, shake or vibration every now and again but its nothing to worry about.

Haven't noticed any shaking or vibration with my engine, but while its warming up the engine rpm with pulse up and down depending how cold outside temp get. My guess its tuned to run as lean as possible saving fuel during the warmup process.

600 seems pretty normal to me across several vehicles I've driven.

The engine only has so many RPMs before it is worn out. I save up my RPMs for longer engine life, by keeping RPMs low.

True facts right here. The engine will only rotate so many times before it’s all used up.

Yep, when i raced bikes, a 125 cc would use up rings twice as quick as a 250....just a law of physics.

Exactly. A lotta guys miss this point. If you set your idle to 1200, rather than 600, you only get 10 years outta a truck that would otherwise last 20. Toyota knows this, but unlike most forum members, they are geniuses.

I am humbled by their knowledge every day.

this is why i love these post.... they get hijacked by people who get carried away! no one's talking about raising RPMs to 1200 it was never mentioned the only thing that was mentioned was is 600 RPMs low or normal? thats all....now we know....NORMAL...

Its not so much the idle, but running at higher rpm's for extended periods than really needed, or what the manufacture intended them to run at for longest engine life and reliability.
My v6 rarely needs to go over 2500 rpm unless towing, and even then its for short periods. Much of the time it runs fine around 1600 rpm.

You can raise idle rpms by ...turning the steering wheel.
BTW,the idle shaking is not related to rpms. It has to do with ECU programming....

I know this is a few months old, but just wanted to mention that my 2009 2.7l 5-speed manual idles right around 650 RPMs when fully warmed up and it has a slight shake/vibration/shudder when idling at those RPMs. You can see the shudder in the stick shift and I can sometimes feel the vibrations in my seat and through the floor. It feels like it's just starting to die a little, but just a tiny bit. It's definitely far from stalling.

You have to pay attention to notice it. I didn't really notice it when I test drove it, but now that I know it's there I feel it all the time. I cleaned the throttle body, replaced the spark plugs/boots/coil springs, cleaned the MAF sensor, replaced the air filter, and changed the serpentine belt. The truck drives a bit better now but the idle speed and vibrations are exactly the same. I inspected and tested the motor/transmission mounts, and they all look solid.

From what I've read on this post and others, this seems to be normal.

lol it's not a problem is what everyone is trying to tell you.
Higher RPM on cold start. After warming, RPM drops offto about 600. If you steer, brake, ac compressor or anything else why you are sitting still, it will go to 900 or so for a sec.

Normal, and not trying to be a smart-ass but just enjoy your Tacoma and be thankful you don't have a real problem.

Like dropping off your $75,000 car at the dealer for a peculiar grinding noise to return the next day to check on it and find the below:
