Small chirp or squeak when going from drive to park or reverse to park.

I noticed a small single chirp or squeak when going from drive to park or reverse to park in my 2016 TRD sport. It’s very subtle and it doesn’t happen all the time. What could it be? Thanks in advance.

 

Torque converters do not fully relieve torque from the driveline while in D or R. This is why you coast along in D or R with no feet on the controls and one of the reasons that I try to convince my fam to pause in N before going to Park, and for other reasons, always use the hand brake.

Your squeak is more likely the motor and trans shifting in the mounts after unloading under idle torque.
