I was watching this YouTube video (@ about 40 seconds in) on a new 2019 Voodoo Blue Tacoma TRD Pro and as the guy had the camera on the dealer sticker/sheet on the window I noticed it had dual rear USB ports (both 2.4A) listed as an option with the code "CP100". Is that an official Toyota accessory that can be added? I have a truck coming in a couple weeks and probably will have them add that in if so! Would be nice to power the kids' tablets on trips and such.

Attaching screenshot for those that don't want to go to the video...

    It’s a factory option on the 2019’s.

From the factory I believe 2019s now have 2 in the front (used to be only 1) and I think one inside the center console which is the same as before.

View installed. Not hard to do at all, and the parts are all available from Amazon.

I wonder if this is new/different though. It says "Innovative smart USB connector, either way is up", which doesn't seem to be what you have pictured as they look like regular USB ports. Or are yours like that (non-directional) and you just can't see it? Also it says both ports are 2.4A rather than one being 1A and one being 2.4A.

The actual USB port I used is not the same one listed in the spec sheet. It’s one I had already. I believe you can order the newer ports if that’s what you want. I wasn’t worried about that so I used one that I had left over from a jeep project.

These all look like power only.....that true?
I'd like to and an audio one in the center console so I can leave an old iPod in there.

Sounds like this replaces the port installed “Connectivity Package” which added the rear dual USB and got you a baggie with two cables (lightning & micro USB) and a dual USB cigarette lighter adapter.

This is a good thing, as the old one couldn’t do past 1.2A

Straightforward mod, run from the console port.

Did you have to remove the whole console to do this?

Anyone have a Toyota part number for this rear USB? I talked my salesman into getting that added in the deal in the deal on our 2020 (TRD offroad premium) but its proving problematic as it was apparently only a US option and not in Canada.

We do have the ones inside the center console, but honestly that's a stupid location being right at the bottom, gets buried in stuff, and hard to see.

It's a southeast toyota part - 00016-00225. It won't be in the normal toyota parts system. I still have one I need to install. The attached instructions are for the older style USB.

There's still one up front under the radio and two in the center console.

It is a bad location but I just leave my cord plugged in. I'd rather do that than some hack at the dealer add this. If you really want it I'd do it myself. I know I care my about my car than some dealer tech.

I really wish they were data/charging, at least the one inside the center console.

That's what I was thinking when they meant by 'rear' ... My 2020 has the 'media' USB port on the dash, and the 'charging' ones (2) in the box on the console. Which I, like you, thought 'C'mon man.. It's nice they're there, but could you have possibly thought of a worse place to put them? Total PITA..'
