Is it possible to replace a 13 inch coil with a 14 inch coil? Technically, it's possible, right? Should I avoid doing that?

    On what shock?

My icons came with a 13” spring and I put a 14” spring on, works fine.

    Basically, I'm trying to find a stiffer spring, but I can't find anyone who makes a 13" ID x 3" x 750 pound spring

I’m just asking if it’s a performance coil over or something different. No, it doesn’t matter what shock... but it does matter what kind of shock... icon, king, fox etc... the answer is yes. Other types, who knows...

Well, it's FOX. What'd you do to get it on?

100% will work then. I took it to a buddy of mine (mechanic) who has a wall mounted spring compressor. Took him about 20 mins. If you can remove the coilovers yourself and take it to a local place it should be pretty cheap.

I used king springs because they were the cheapest shipped from down south Motorsport.

Yup no issue I put king 14” springs on my icons for the same reasons stated above. My reason was to have less preload with the same ride height.

What kind of Fox coilover? 2.5 Remote Reservoir? Is this a 0-3" or 0-2" model?

How much weight do you have on that truck to needs such a heavy spring rate?

Well, I'm trying to piece together some suspension. Here's my plan: FOX 2.5 Coilovers with Remote Res., 0-3". Weight? Planning for 250 pounds up front. What do you think? The coils the FOX come with are 13 inches and 600 lbs./inch. Will it be OK if I squeeze in a 14 inch coil with 700 lbs./inch?

Dude, don't go to 750lb spring rate. Extended travel coilovers will typically come with a 13inx3in 650lb coil option, although there will be an option to get the 14inx3in 700lb coil. I ordered my icon 2.5s with the 13inx3in 650lb coil, but I realized I needed a heavier spring so I ended up purchasing KING 14inx3in 700lb coil and had a local shop swap them out.

Order your coilovers with the 14inx3in 700lb coil and you'll save time and money... lol. It cost me about $180 for 2 new coils (14inx3in 700lb), plus labor and down time on my truck. Learn from my, and many others on here, mistakes.

Thanks for the info. That'll give me some confidence :D
I have my eyes on some Eibach springs (which is what they initially use, if I'm not mistaken)

If you don't plan to add more weight anytime soon, the standard spring that comes with a Fox 2.5 R/R 0-3" Coilover (13" x 600lb) may be fine. However you're right in the middle of needing a heavier rate. If you do plan on adding a little more weight, or want less threads showing on the coilover, then a 14" x 600 spring would be our suggestion. For 700lb springs, you really need to have a tremendous amount of weight on the vehicle. We typically suggest the lightest spring rate you can get away with, and allow the shock valving to do the rest.

Thanks for the suggestion! Yeah, I plan to add some weight in the front: Steel bumper, lights, winch, 1/4 steel skids, and dual battery system (eventually)
According to my calculations, that would easily add up to around 250 pounds up front

Got it, so it sounds like you will eventually need those heavier springs. Up to you if you want to sacrifice ride quality now for weight you plan to add later.

Yes. My ICON coilovers have EIBACH coils (icon just painted them black and rebranded them)

Front suspension: -Fox 2.5 extended coil overs with 650lb, 14” springs -Tuff country upper control arms (will replace soon) Rear suspension: Fox 2.5 struts with Old man Emu heavy duty leaf springs Engine: K&N CAI Intake Tires: -Fuel XD800 Misfit rims wrapped in BFG KO2 Exterior: -Smittybuilt front and rear bumpers -Smittybilt X2O 10K Waterproof Synthetic Rope 10000lb Wireless Winch -Soft tonneau cover -30” in grill LED light bar
I just put 14" 650Lb Eibach springs on my Fox 2.5 EXT to counter the weight up front from my bumper and wench. I went with 700lb first and it was stiff as hell and a very uncomfortable ride. So I dropped it down to 650" with the coil adjustment all the way to the top (no threads showing). The ride is stiffer but off road and on road works for the weight up front and is comfortable.

Curious what you go with and how it feels when you get them all together. Hope this info helps
