Need to service the transmission. 2006, V6, 4WD, Automatic

I'm not a fan of a flush-n-fill. I'd rather drain, remove pan, replace filter, refill. Local Toyota will do the service I want at a quoted (no detail) cost of $615 + tax....... ouch.

So, I guess I'll tackle this on my own. Where could I determine the correct OEM P/N for the filter? Or does anyone know the correct OEM P/N for the filter?

Rockauto has a couple of choices. I'm sure if I guess, I'll get the wrong one.

If I’m not mistaken I think we have the same transmission as my 2013. Strainer 35330-60050. I also did the pan drop - I tightened the pan bolts at about 4 ft/lbs and the drain bolt at 14-15 ft/lbs. good luck!

Correct. The drain plug is a 10mm X 1.5 thread with less than 10 mm of actual thread engagement.

    Guys, thanks for the feedback.

Yes, on the bolts. I always remove and tighten by hand. Small bolts don't need a big torque.

I do not subscribe to the mindset, "if tight is good, then tighter must be better."

I can feel when the drain bolts and pan bolts are sufficiently tight. If it doesn't leak, then all is good.
