Also it is imperative to not expect to make what everyone says you'll make right out of school. Maybe after a year or two, but you have to prove your worth to the employer first.

I was told one thing by everyone at my school, then was told another by every job interviewer. Definetly less pay then what I was told to expect. Not saying people dont get lucky, its just what me and my classmates discovered.

yeah, fucking axle roommate was so hung up on the pay thing and wouldn't shut the fuck up about it. He was adamant about deserving $110k yr and thought it was outrageous to start out making $60k yr/ with no job or internship experience except for 2 weeks at McD :homer:

    For what job?

Right out of school I would've been happy to make $60k/year, even in CA

Im making around 2/3rds of what I was told to expect. Not bad, and working my ass off and implementing my own ideas has already earned me a raise in 5 months.

one time he pretended like he needed help and I was on lunch so I answered a question for him. he went back into the other room and hopped on a phone call to tell them the answer as if he was the one coaching the coworker through the problem

LOL what a dick. I would be prepared to give him a totally wrong answer if he tried that again just to completely stuff him up
