No money, all went to truck...
It's insanity. Here on Oahu, no new Tacomas in inventory.
Here's a snippet of the used inventory....

Probably just easier to buy a Tacoma from a neighbor island. Big Island still has Tacoma's in stock for cheaper than that.
Most of the people I know shop the different islands for better pricing and have it shipped over.

Damn crazy prices. When I bought my 2015 DBC TRD Offroad in 2017, it had 24K on the odo and I paid 28.5K. Thought that was a decent deal.

I waited about a year for the best 09 4runner or 13-15 tacoma. Finally found my 2013 DCSB Sport two years ago with 54k miles. He wanted 27k obo. The truck had a Leer shell with roof rails (no legs & bars). I got lucky because it was at an old friends lot. We settled @ 25k. ATM, USAA values my truck @ 28k. I'm trying really hard not to daily drive it! In the end, those few years of framing houses with my friend sure paid off.

I had a new frame just 5 months prior to my accident. I'd had new shocks and new BFG's installed ($2k). When I pointed this out to insurance, they wanted receipts. I showed the work list for frame, receipts for the rest.
They said warranty work didn't count, threw in an extra g for the $18k total. I was ok with that. (Like super ok! )

Well remember carmax is a take it or leave it business. No haggling over price. So I doubt they’d post it at that price if they didn’t think they could sell it for that price.

This made me curious so I looked at KBB. Shows private party value between 11,500 - 13,800. Right in line w/ what I expected. I'm in no position to sell right now, but I always assumed it was about a 12k truck.

Sooooo; is there a consensus that a 4L engine truck holds value better than the 3.5?

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a Taco on the mainland, even including the $2k to ship?

They just announced a fuel pump recall on the 17-20 Tacos. Watch the 2nd gen value creep up even more!!!!

It might be. Mainland Toyota's are real hesitant to do it cause Servco is connected to the original Toyota family in Japan. I think mainland has shortages too.
