my bad! I can tell you from experience with breaking a clip on a bezel. They do come out but it's a tedious process. They are held on by clips but those little buggers are on there pretty snug. I wouldn't attempt it again. However, my idea of taking my time and being patient is getting a bigger hammer and wedge tool

The bezels have about 5 or 6 clips/tabs that you need to gently persuade out of their holes. I used a couple of small plastic trim removal tools, started from the front and worked my way around. One of the tabs bent and was resistant to coming out, but after pulling the bezel off, that small tab just bent back into shape. I'm always afraid of breaking some tab or other when I'm working on the truck, and there are so many different ways Toyota engineers decided to attach things, it kind of boggles my mind.

I figured I would try that way first, rather than having to work with the bezel on, not sure if it was that much better, but it seemed easier than having to press the edges of the lamin-x film in under the bezel like I had seen in youtube videos, and definitely easier than going in through the fenders and removing the whole fog lamp to apply the film, and then reinstall the lamp.

I am fairly aware of that. They didn't do anything fancy just cut a cut a groove and chisel/HAMMER TIME.

We traded-in the wife's 6-MT FJ (high mileage) with a completely rusted-out frame for the "new" Tacoma. She is now rockin' the Trail Edition 4Runner. Missing the manual trans but, man, that TE 4Runner is so nice.

I have to agree with you. Granted, it is not high end stuff, of course, but pretty darn good for what it is.

I also have to say their bug and tar remover product is absolutely great. Took sticker residue off with no problem. And is really great as a spot cleaner, especially if a bird drops a few bombs on your truck.

I added olecoot spacers to the back of both seats first. That seemed nicer on my back but the lack of thigh support seemed exaggerated. Then I added the DesertDoesIt ones to driver's side front with the multi-mount. I have not put many miles on it but I like the overall feel. Mrs. 9mmMike really liked the ones on the front so I scored a used pair from TW and put them on the passenger side as well. Even the FJ seats were better (for me) than these Tacoma seats. We did test-drive a 2020 with the power seat. That is a nice improvement.

Looking to add a hidden bumper light bar. Came across this while Googleing. $150 for 32" CREE light bar, mounts and wiring harness? Seems too good to be true? Any one have experience with this site?

Rear sliding window, intermittent wiper switch, center console tray, glove box organizer shelf, WeatherTech front mats and mud flaps, 3D MaxSpider behind-the-front-seats mat, bed lights, MESO climate control rings, XPEL tailgate protection, Desertdoesit.com seat jackers, RAV4 radio knobs, glove box letters.
Yeah, I am still getting used to the feel of these rear spacers and may drop down from 1 1/4 to 1 inch. We'll see. Will drive the truck awhile and see how it goes. I find myself adjusting the seat forward and reverse alot trying to get it just right.

TRD emblems, tinted windows, OEM running boards, AVS vent shades, RMAS upgrade, LED lights in front and rear, interior LED lighting upgrade, LED lighting in bed, touch control dash mount for LED lighting, auxillary 12v and USB jacks in bed, replace all speakers with Infinity, custom mod with Bose tweeters, TRD Pro illumination mod...
You are missing an important part of the upgrade, sound deadening. If you line the plastic door panel and the metal surrounding the speaker you will greatly improve the acoustic capability of the new speakers.

You will only get reasonably good sound with USB and CD. Sirius is the worse followed by BT.

The olecoot rear spacers are 1" and seem to be "just right" for us......so far. :)

Winterized the truck by throwing some buckets full of sand in the back and used the adjustable tie down points with ratchet straps so they don’t budge.

The quality is pretty good, but I have to have the volume up 50-75% just to hear it at a normal volume.

After having the truck for a year, I finally pulled the trigger on a diamondback. I'll be honest, it was the price tag that kept me from getting it sooner. Now that I have it, I can confirm it's worth the price. It's a solid unit. Also I got it from the scratch and dent section so it was a little cheaper lol.
