I'm doing a 75Hard for the rest of the year and Starting Strength for weight training as part of the two workouts a day. Anyone else?

This might be the stupidest thing I have ever read. The NFL is not a sport. Football is a sport. You don't get a college scholarship for the NFL, you get a scholarship for football. All that crossfit must have drained your brain cells. The fact that my phone wants to auto correct crossfit to CrossFit, means it's a brand. Not a sport.

 

I will have to check it out.
Always looking for new nutrition stuff.

Especially anything that challenges the status quo.

 

As I said in the OP the sport is functional fitness and CrossFit is a league/brand

 

I learned as an adult. Join a hunting focused gun range, or a hunting group online (it's just like a online forum for shitposting and trucks, but hunting instead)...

 

these guys know their shit. They run a sport a d weight loss nutrtion co and it’s basically 20-30 PhD’s, DO, and MD’s. All doctors of sport nutrtion, exercise physiology, biomechanics, etc

Honestly the trend is kinda dumb and the guy who came up with it comes across as spammy, but when I saw there were 75 days left in the year last week I decided to commit to it. The rules are, for 75 days with no cheat days - follow a diet, workout 2x a day, drink a gallon of water a day, read 10 pages of a non-fiction book a day, and take a progress pic every day. Personally I feel I've drank enough beer during the pandemic to cover me for 2020 and I need motivation to workout at home, so those were my motives. I don't need to be on a diet, I already eat healthy. Staying hydrated is never a bad thing, and I'd also love to read ten pages of a book everyday. I'm a week in and finding it to be good motivation.

 

Sounds like some David Goggins mental game stuff. Spammy but those are all good things, certainly not gonna hurt you. With maybe the 2xday for 75 days. Rest days or at least active rest days are necessary.

 

I see Dr. Mike Israetel is part of their group. I’ll check out their podcast.

Do they support keto because my ass is ready to go back to that after this race.

ahhh I’ve heard of his stuff. I’ve not done his particular program but I agree with his ideas.

 

Crossfit is a branded fitness regime. It's not any different than jazzercise.... It just took off and gained a cult following because it's marketing is better and it's targeted at a wealthier audience who want to feel separate and better than others.

It is not a sport.

And just as if all you did was spend time doing jazzercise you'd get really good at jazzercise... Same with CrossFit. You don't get better or stronger necessarily, you just get better at doing crossfit workouts. No CrossFitter will ever be able to compete in a real events sport against people who train those sports specifically. You will never be a competitive weightlifter, strongman, powerlifter, you'll only ever be good at doing crossfit.
