The highest male deadlift at the CrossFit games was only 567lbs. If I place second at that event, it’s not impressive. End of discussion.

 

Also they never press the weight, only clean and drop. That bugs me.

hahahaha yea but can you dead lift 550, run a sub 5 min mile and do 30 ring muscle ups. Probably not. The point is diversity of skill not heaviest lift

 

I agree with you on this, it’s clean and something else or push press but rarely clean & jerk which is annoying.

No but I can deadlift 700lbs then carry 4 350lb stones 50ft each, then overhead press 4 300lb objects, then farmers carry 350lbs per hand with no straps for 60ft, then pull a 20,000lb truck 100ft....

But that's not very functional I reckon
