The aircabinman kit on ebay is the one most guys on here get. Beware all the kits on ebay claiming to be OEM for cheap, a lot of them say they are shipping from the US but the seller is based in China...lot of phony OEM 1st gen parts floating around the interwebs

 

If you read the kit description, it should cover your motor since it covers all the 3.4L motors from 1995 to 2004. I don't know what the "bypass tube" is that you are talking about. Maybe try looking at some Toyota parts diagrams?

 

Bypass if you have an oil cooler, which if it's a prerunner or 4x4 you do

I'm sure the Aisin kit is good, make sure to get a new crankshaft pulley bolt. A lot of kits don't come with one. I got mine off Amazon

That’s the oil cooler pipe. I think all double cabs have it

 

Aisin kits nice. It’s all factory parts, but yes order a new crank bolt.

 

Is the crank bolt special? Like Torque-to-yield? Or will any old metric bolt do?

 

Special bolt. They’re like 6 bucks from the dealer I think. They’re under a lot of torque, it’s just best to replace while your there, one of the last things you want flying off while driving

 

And yes, we’ve had cars towed in due to crank bolts flying off. They like to rip the threads out of the cranks too when they do

 

For sure. I only asked because I work for Fastenal. I can match all the dimensions and grade; but if it's TTY...

 

I know you do! Lol. But it’s a funky shape with a captive washer.

I can get SEMS bolts.

 

Doh. Funky shape is my 4.7. But the washer is something I’ve never seen replicated

 

Still not for sure about the 4.7 bit.

It looks like a flange head bolt with a SEMS washer. Though, I bet the larger SEMS washer OD is a specific size to fit the divot in the crank.
