I put in a jack and shovel mount. I’m not worried about security because I’ll be getting a canopy in a couple weeks and it has side pop out windows so I can access these. I really like the Hi-Lift brand jack mount. It has threaded holes for a quick fist which I put my Fiskers shovel in. I had to cut about 6” off the steel handle of the shovel so that it would fit perfect.

Replaced the first portion of the flexible front diff breather hose with something longer and stronger (that's what she said). The one from Toyota is flimsy, was starting to tear on one end, and was barely long enough to be able to attach at both ends. It's 5/32" ID for anyone interested. I got a 5' section from McMaster-Carr.

Not today but in the last 6 months or so, i have changed out the needle bearing for the ECGS bushing, replaced drivers side rear bearing, added powerstop rotors and pads, added D-rings to the front of the bed and made a spacer/washer for them so the would move freely like the ones on the back of the bed and also replaced my back up lights with the Osram bulbs. I did do the bulbs today and am looking forward to seeing how bright they are tonight. IMG_0505.jpg IMG_0507.jpg IMG_1286.jpg

Warning on those lights you need to bend the tabs inside the plug to get them to hold. I had them for about 2 weeks and they kept falling out anytime I would go over a bump so I took them out. I couldn't get the tabs bent enough to hold them tight. Also they get really hot

Finally got around to a sleep platform. Been putting it off for months but glad to finally have something even if it's basic.

I did bend the inside the bulb and the prongs on the lights. Hopefully that will hold them in.

My wheels were pretty gouged up from wheeling so it was time for a new paint job. They were previously rattle canned black but I wanted to mix it up. One of the few perks of rattle canned wheels.

Anyways, this is what I settled on. Its pretty ridiculous and not everyone’s cup of tea, but I’m excited to get them mounted. I’m going to let them continue drying overnight and mount tomorrow.

I didn’t realize it would be like, fucking PURPLE when I bought the paint. I thought it would shift around shades of blue. It grew on me though.

    D5A964EE-E884-46BE-9899-F1FE8A09FD52.jpg

edit: not a huge fan. Maybe they’ll grow on me. I think a dark, solid blue would be much nicer.

Edit 2: with a little sun on them they look much better. It’s growing on me.

Just the face! These wheels get all sorts of gouged up so I don’t bother with painting the inside or doing too good Of a job.

Oil change and tire swap at stealership, made a tire storage shelf (?) for my tires, bought a "tool case" and rearranged my tools, fixed my cap lights...I didn't get to fluid filming the frame, hopefully tomorrow.

Slightly more snow than last year but not as cold. Mild winter.

I'm familiar with that situation with a plug/connector. The fix is to look at the female side plug and tighten or crunch the loops, like the one on the right.

My stepson showed up to help me today/work for cash. He was 2 days and 5 hours late. Pretty typical. However I have him for the next 4 days and he's fast, efficient, and has a lot of different skills.

More importantly he brought me my parts. I paid $200. I was pretty happy at that point.
