Sup fellaz, I’m trying to do this project as well. So does anyone here on the forum have a write up on how to lower headliner down? Also, my new LED comes with spongy-like double sided tape, will this be enough to keep the water out or should I buy Toyota adhesive to secure it? Thx!

edit: NVM...I found a thread here on the forum about the headliner removal.

Man I went with some red Lasfit T10 replacement bulbs, used 3 out of the 2 pairs I bought. They seem to spread the beam pattern and glow the stock cover evenly so it's even more visible than the led replacements I've seen in person. Your perspective and opinion may differ. LEDs are cool TW Bros, I replace them all around did the LED flasher relay mod.

    Here’s what I did.
I took off the red lens and bulbs. Then I used a dremel to cut the light into thirds, pulled out the center third and reached in to the nuts on the inside of the roof. Unscrew those nuts and then I used a plastic trim tool to scrape off the adhered gasket. Cleaned it up with wd40 and alcohol. Then installed the new gasket. Before taking off the paper on the gasket on the light side, I use a little of the adhesive gasket that came with the new light and adhered the nuts to the inside of the roof. I started to install the light posts into the holes/nuts. Then once it was on but loose I took off the paper, centered the light and pushed it into place. Then screwed the light tightly. Voila! No headliner removal.

I kinda figured that since I’m not planning to go back stock light set-up. Thx for the confirmation, save me a lot werk just for an LED third brake light...
