    Last year around Halloween my bow was stolen from my truck right in my driveway. I bet they were pissed when they realized it was left handed .

    Muzzleloader was Oct 10-17 here. Now it’s rifle. It was just so thick I couldn’t get a clean shot. I could see his head, and that was about it. Still got a lot of leaves On the trees right now, plus I was in a pine that had another pine behind it whose branches were all around me. Good for hiding, not for shooting behind you.

    Was able to get out this morning and my daughter asked to go sit, um yes please join me so up at 530 in the stand at 600 had does around at shooting light, then this little spike Cruised in and started chasing all around was funny had does 11 yard from us trying to get away. We have a 3pt rule in my zone, so he will be around till big brother puts him in his place.     Good weekend. Saw 6 or 7 bucks, 3 very respectable ones. I blew my chance on a totally love drunk rutted out pig last night, but my friend got this guy first thing this morning. (Before you say anything, this is a very solid Columbia blacktail. Very few of them go 3 or 4 points on the island we were hunting.

    I’ve got a couple hundred pounds of moose in the freezer, so I’m only looking for high quality deer this year. Other years when I’m depending on deer for food I’ll take anything legal.

    My point was that these coastal deer don’t look impressive like a big mule deer or whitey. A monster black tail might be 180 lbs and 2-3 points a side.
