South Carolina BS thread under new MANAGEMENT and lives in SC

Speaking of glass, I have to get the wife's windshield replaced when I get home. She's got a fairly large running crack on the drivers side. Not the way I want to be spending my money.

Yea pretty sure windshield replacement is free in sc. My insurance would let me choose from a list of installers. As far as quality glass goes, I honestly don't know what the difference would be. Enlighten me? I've gone through probably 5 free ones over the past decade or so. That doesn't include the wife's car

 

You guys are serious? Hmm.. Ill put the wife to work making some phone calls since she's a bit better dealing with insurance companies than I am, I lack the patience for that sort of thing.

Yep dead serious. I wouldn't know a quality one from a low quality one, but I know what a free one looks like!

 

As long as the window keeps the water out and wind out, that's good enough for me.

We both stay dry in the rain and the installers will show up wherever you want them to. A few done at the house, and a few done at work. One was done while we were travelling. Came by a hotel and tossed it on.

 

If you happen to have State Farm insurance, I have the 800 number for glass replacement.

 

Thanks, but we use a different company. It's the wife's vehicle so she's looking into it.

Just call whatever glass company you want and they'll handle the paperwork. It's free as long as you have comprehensive insurance.

 

Having Comprehensive is the key, if you don't have it, its not included.

 

And it depends on your insurance, unless SC is different than NC in that way.

 

NC is different. In SC, glass is covered with zero deductible even if your policy has one.

 

But it's easier just to ask strangers that have no clue what their policy consists of, or if they have one.

 

Ah the roads are that shitty and the insurance companies are giving you a break..

 

I move so much for work that it's hard to keep track of which policy I have from which state. AZ -> FL -> TX -> SC, the last 3 states were all within the past 10 years. As for comp coverage, we have that on both of our vehicles so I guess glass is covered.

I believe you can request OEM with Safelight. It costs more. We Did this with our Subie when we had it.

 

Covered, no deductible, but it WILL still count as a claim.
