I'm installing a in dash GPS this weekend and I need to find the vehicle speed pulse wire location and what color it is. And if anyone knows if you don't hook it up to the GPS how much will it put you off.

    THANKS

Reverse Light red/white + driver kick, gray 12 pin plug, pin 1

Speed Sense purple/white fuse box, black 13 pin plug, pin 5

There's a post somewhere on here with pictures showing the wires. I can't find it right now, but hope this helps.

    A few bolts are different.
Hmm curious what it does and why you need to find a Speed pulse wire? What brand Navi unit did you get. The aftermarket wiring harness, like comes with all head units from crutchfield should be all you need to do the install.

I have eclipse AVN6620. The speed pulse wire is to help keep track of your location when you loose direct connection to a satelite. Going into a tunnel for instance.

ahh that makes sense, is that needed because the Navi is not a hard drive navi on the 6620?

haha, yeah don't you hate that.

Also the speed pulse will let the unit sense the speed of the vehilce and estimate arrival time to your destination. It is usually pretty accurate, dunno if it adjusts itself at lights but it's pretty on the money....well in the AVN6620 neways.

    Good luck.
