I put a sparkomatic tape deck from Kmart in the 1976 dodge Aspen that was the first car got. Needed something it was my grandpa's and only had an AM radio.
I put in many tape decks and CD players. Now we stream music from Al Gore's internet.

Oh i got banned from Napster.... Downloaded Metallica

I bought new tires two weeks ago and got to look at my front brakes.
I didn't know they were that due.
I ordered a Power Stop kit immediately from Rockauto.
    Got it done today.
I'm glad I got it done before the cold sets, there was a light sprinkle as I was finishing up the last wheel.
The rears can wait until Spring.

At least it's good to see the wear is even.

I didn't know you could get banned from Napster. I still have my collection of songs DL'd from Napster using dial up.

Sparkomatic, now that is a name that I haven't heard in decades...

Yep, James Hetfield was on the warpath about people downloading his music. He probably wanted to Kill em All!

Me too still have those songs. Dial up was a pain. Try downloading a long song like Shine on you crazy diamonds or that one long Iron butterfly song. Always got disconnected. Then i got a cable modem took no time then.

Looks great! If you ever decide to upgrade the fogs entirely i recommend the DD SS3. They are awesome and the price is right on the money

I had a 64 Ford XL with a Mechanical reverb and some humongous speakers whose name I can't recall. And of course an 8 track player. I was uptown.

Yes, I was pointing it out for the other guy.
That is how I have mine set up, even with extra wire sleeve, tessa fuzz tape and foam padding.
    20201002_162105.jpg

    My final speaker setup:
I added weather strips on the mounting brackets for a better seal.
Braided wire sleeve and tessa tape for wire protection
Then silicone speaker baffles to direct sound, vibration deaden the speaker itself and protect the rear from the elements.
    20201007_231203.jpg 20201007_203435.jpg 20201007_231525.jpg 20201007_203510.jpg 20201007_194809.jpg

Also added egg crate closed cell foam behind each speaker to reduce as much back wave.
    20201007_194209 (1).jpg

Vast improvement from my initial install of the Kickers speakers. Bass response is great, sound is cleaner and more balanced. I don't even have a sub or amp yet and i am already very satisfied with the results.

I was looking at the Cali Raised ones in Amber but i decided to hold off since I spent quite a bit in the 3 months I have had the truck. I picked those films up because I really wanted to see how I liked the yellow before buying more expensive yellow fogs. The DD ones look even nicer than the Cali Raised and only $50 more. I have to get them if i decide i like the yellow over clear.

Have you considered insulating the door panels with the same foam? I have done this as well covering the inside of the kick panels. It seems every time I do this the acoustics improve a little bit more.
