15B75A52-80AF-4408-915F-9A07C7862128.jpg Today I finally caught up with a local ride I’ve been chasing since 2012. Never could catch this guy in passing. Come to find out the restoration Was completed in 2012.

A 1970 GTO Judge 455 4-speed in my favorite Orbit Orange. This color was a one year only color and only offered on the Judge package. I’ve always loved this high impact color.

'68 has always been my favorite. I've never had one myself, but a friend had one back in high school. It was a stripper, but still a GOaT. It was a base 400/TH400 (at least it started that way) with a bench seat, and column shift. No hidden headlights, and a chrome bumper.

1968 and 1969 were basically the same body style. Few can tell the difference in years at a glance. Your buddies 1968 was rare in that few GTO’s in 1968 and 1969 had a chrome front bumper. Most cars you see these days badged as a GTO with a chrome front bumper are actually Lemans cars cloned to look like a GTO. Not saying your buddies car was that. Some did come with a chrome front bumper.

    Differences between 1968 and 1969.
    Outside differences:
Front wing windows were not there in 1969.
Front fender GTO badging was different between the two years.
Front and rear marker lights were different.
Rear quarter panel GTO sticker was not there in 1969.
Rear tail lights and rear bumper were different.
    Side mirrors were shaped different.

    Interior differences:
    Dash was different.
    Steering wheel was different.
And seat upholstery pattern was different.

    Drivetrain:
The Ram Air IV motor was not offered in 1968. Only optioned for 1969 and 1970.
Rear differential gearing, with the Ram Air IV option in 1969 and 1970 you could opt for a 390:1 or a 433:1 rear ratio.
1969 there was front disc brakes which wasn’t offered in 1968.

All those differences yet at a glance both 1968 & 1969 years look identical to the untrained eye.

Cool car, those straight 6’s lived forever. My brother years ago had a 1973 Dart with a straight 6. It was red with a white stripe that looked very much like the Starsky and Hutch Torino paint scheme. Lol

...^^^... A lot of craftsmanship in paint, wood and metal ... a lot of different talents used there.

That is way too classy to take camping ...
