You wouldn’t happen to have any how to’s on how to do a proper alignment on a motorcycle, would you? Asking for a friend.

    I can't tell if you're serious or if I'm missing a joke, I've had a few IIPA's sooo....

If you're serious, I've used the motion pro aligner rod with decent success. It's not perfect but has always worked well enough for my needs. Clamps onto your rear sprocket face and you basically line the rod up with your chain. https://www.motionpro.com/product/08-0048

If you need more precision than that you can always do a string method: https://www.motorcyclistonline.com/simple-motorcycle-wheel-alignment/

Or measure from a known point (swingarm pivot?) back to the center of the axle

Being an ass! I have a single swing arm with a final drive, not sure how much adjusting goes into installing the wheel on that setup!

I have seen videos of guys setting up their rear wheel and making sure it’s straight so they don’t eat chains or teeth with string wrapped around the front wheel with the bike on a center stand or rear wheel stand.

I think we’d call this “thrust angle”

Well god damn I'm glad I put in that beer disclaimer, completely forgot the R12X0 line has shaft drives  So used to my bike with it's slightly-off swingarm marks on the chain adjusters

I'm just going to jump in here in the middle. Some of ya know me. I don't have a bike right now but I'm working on a plan. It includes a dual sport and a trailer.

I heard rumor Kawasaki is going to reintroduce the KLR. The rumor said 700cc.

    Why should I consider a T700 instead?

Because the T700 actually exists? Otherwise wait until the possibility of a new bike from Kawasaki.

I was just checking it out. It's pretty nice. Expensive but it does have some nice features. I wonder if Kawasaki will use the opportunity to raise the price 3-4k to match Yamaha.

the trailer is to pull the bike with the taco??
if that is the case, I would consider the xr650l
i think it outperforms the klr650 off road, and since you are trailering it... you dont need the better on road performance the klr650 has over the xr650l

as far as a new klr700, i am not aware of a new coming model, but would imagine the price would represent that so I would still suggest the xr650l
the t700, if you are going to be trailering it around with the taco, i dont see the need for the on road performance that bike offers... same with the Africa twin

you didnt mean tow a trailer with the bike now right??

Of course Kawasaki will raise the price.
Rendering that are out right now look pretty sweet. Nobody has any information on it though.

are there any out of the box dual sports that make 50-60 hp?

    Seems odd a CRF450L is high 30's but a 450x is 45.

    500EXC-F is high 30's. 500XCF is like 70?

Why are the street legal bikes so nerfed? I highly doubt emissions equipment is robbing 15-20 hp on a thumper.

the 250's (wr, klx, crf) are putting out high 20's to the wheel. bumping displacement ~75% should allow an increase power about the same. The 450's aren't even 50% more power than a 250.

Seems like a waste to even get a 450 dually. 100% price increase, more than 50% worse fuel range, yet like 40% more power at best.
