What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

As a Texan that grew up with guns, this gets me too. I’m neighbors with a tv personality and super 2a type. He paints, polishes, and customizes... and posts glamour shots of his guns on Instagram as if they are a novelty. It’s a totally different thing than what I was taught.

I’m fine with it I guess... different strokes for different folks... but I totally get why people from other countries are all like, wtf?!

 

Well sh*t. I’ll give UPS credit. Originally my delivery date was Friday. Then website updated once the item was picked up from the shipper and delivery date was changed to Monday.
Saturday morning I checked the tracking and showing it’s at our local UPS and out for delivery Monday. Saturday night my ring doorbell notified me of a motion. Thinking it’s my wife’s non stop Amazon packages. To my surprise, UPS dropped off my predator steps

a lot cheaper than buying the OEM from the stealership. Got them from eBay for $140

It’s an Uptop Overland rack. I got the Bravo and added the handles to it.

 

One problem I have found with this type of speaker baffle is that, because it limits the air volume behind the speaker, it suppresses bass response. It’s no problem if you have a sub woofer, but if you don’t, you are better off using an 80mil butyl sound deadener with 150mil closed cell foam on top of that in the entire door. Not only do you get much better bass response, but also greatly benefit from a much quieter cabin, which really helps to provide much cleaner sound while driving. It is a bit of work, but the results are quite impressive.

There are extremes on both sides of this issue. I think why some 2A supporters are so passionate is the 2A is the only amendment that is constantly under attack. You don't see this type of angsts for any of the other amendments. Well at least since the 21st repealed the 18th.

Did you have to modify the mount to get the extinguisher to fit under the cover? Sorry if you've already posted that answer as I'm 45 pages behind and trying to get caught up.

 

I thought that was the case, since I hear that often for speaker baffles lowering bass. But this is not the usual one you find, like on crutchfield. Well up until recently, I haven't seen them before.

I already have 80mil butyl and 150mil ccf for all my doors, rear wall and headliner. 80mil butyl and 315mil for the floor, going to add MLV next week

I thought it was great when I just had the Kickers CS/KS, but I think it actually sounds punchier and more responsive with this baffle. Compare to the usual speaker baffles that has the rear closed off, this is fully open and still uses the entire doors air cavity.

 

It's like some are 'triggered'

 

I don't carry and don't feel a need to but I respect the rights of others when they exercise their legal rights. I actually feel safer living in a country with a well armed citizenry. Gubmint will think twice before attempting to take away our freedoms. The UK, on the other hand, is a different story.

 

Quick history lesson, since it's off topic but will hopefully clarify. Not waiting for a firefight. It's a defensive posture because it has historical precedent. Our country was founded on the desire to break from the tyranny of England, and those who stood up to that tyranny could only do so by breaking from the norm and arming themselves.
