Finished checking my oil the other day and when I was about to close the hood I noticed unattached male and female plugs, one near the top just below the hood latch and another behind the Toyota front emblem. Anyone know what these are for? Thanks for any info!

No idea, possible wiring for the sensor in the grill?? Unless you have that and it’s indeed connected. Someone will know though.

I think the male one is the TSS sensor and the lower one is for fog lights. But I'm not 100%.

The female plug is for the fog lights that don’t come on SR trucks

Looks like the 2 plugs to the TSS I unplug when I take my grill off.

Yeah, I was thinking one of them could be for fog lights.

    So funny with the guesses.
The male plug in your pic is a jumper to the hood latch locked "sensor". It's removed when the OEM alarm is installed.
Like @Anchovy stated, the female plug is the fog harness bifurcation you'd need to add the wires to the fog lamps.

    Thanks for this info.

Regarding the 'latch locked sensor': Do you mean it's like the 'door ajar' sensors that will show up on the center of the dash behind the steering wheel when a door is open? I have never looked on the dash when the hood has been open!

Your Utility SR doesn't have it. ( OEM Alarm)

For my 2017 SR5, I dont have that "dummy connector" (its just wrapped in electrical tape) and have the OEM alarm. Do you know what is causing the hood ajar warning that i cant get rid off now?
