    5100s, 885s, deaver AAL, Waiting impatiently to install Demello front bumper, Mobtown sliders & skids, and safari snorkel.
    The stain will be fine,whatever you prefer as long as it soaks in. Maybe a few coats and some very light sanding between coats. It's more just to get the varnish off.
    Pine tar will make it tacky, so be cautios. That could even be after the oil if you feel it's still lacking a little grip.
