Hi, I am planning to pick up a new truck shortly (DBSB off road) and want to swap out the stock tires for something a bit more aggressive. I am completely new to the truck world and looking for recommendations on what size and tire I should get. I am in the North West so get lots of rain and snow in the winter. I am not planning heavy off-roading trails, just standard logging roads.

I do not plan to get the truck lifted unless you think this would help?
Should I also swap out the wheels as well?
Is any trimming of body work required if I increase the size of the tire (eg. go up to 32s)

Falken wildpeaks and cooper disc. At3 are pretty popular and fit your needs

I do a lot of driving on gasoline/power line access roads for work and also have snowy conditions (New England). Put Goodyear duratracs on (265/75/16 load c) and am happy with the way they deal with elements. But most at tires would do wildpeaks,ko2,nitto grappler etc) I would shy away from an e load range tire but that’s just my personal preference others run them and they’re fine. 6 plys fit my need tho tough enough for what I do but also not so heavy. Good luck.

You're going to get lots of good recommendations, and once you do a little research, there are going to be several tires that will work well for you. So don't stress too much.

As far as size, you can easily fit a 265/75/16 or a 265/70/17 (depending on which trim you have and the wheel size that came with it).

I had some Duratracs in the Colorado mountains for 45,000 miles and loved everything about them except for the road noise. I specifically got them for winter driving as my wife is a snow hydrologist, and we had to get to some distant places in some shitty weather for her job/research.

I recently changed to Ultraterrains though as they have less aggressive tread but a similar build to the Duratracs. If they have similar handling to the Duratracs as well but without the road noise, then I'll be a fan for life. I have 5,000 on then so far (with one early September 6" snow dump), and I'm stoked on them so far.

Are the stock tires easy to sell new for a decent price? Or is it worth using these until they are ready to replace with something else?

I’ve heard of several people being able to sell them to their discount tire or similar place if they are new and buying new tires. Might be worth looking into

Look at Coopers range of A/T tires.
