So yesterday I was in a Toyota Dealer looking at a 2011. Almost gave my 06 for it. The I remembered some rumors about the redesign.

Ive searched and searched and there seems to be mixed stories about either 2012 or no redesign for now. I really do not want to buy the 2011 if its going to change in 1 year.

Now the dealer guy says he "called toyota" (WTF) and they told him that there will be no redesign as stated officially by them.

Im not sure if its bull because he wants to sell to me or if its true...

    Anyone know anything?

Might be the stupidest trick in the book... The fool at the dealer knows about 2% more than you do about any new vehicles coming out. Toyota doesn't disclose anything to anyone until they are ready to formally announce something.

This is what im afraid of. Id be paying 34,500 for this truck. Id be horribly pissed... to the extent of going to the dealer and punching this sucker if he is lying and a redesign came in 6 months or so, or whenever in 2011 Toyota reveals it..

Also, is it true that the Double Cab TRD Off Road does not come in long cab?

I saw in Toyota that the option wasn't available, but that has been wrong in the past.

i remember reading, somewhere on here, that a redesign was slated for 2012.

:D if they redesign then most likely will be for worst. So far they "improved" each year with more and more useless knickknacks. So this could be your last chance to own new non-car like truck. Who knows next version could be street only version of Ridgeline
As of Long Bed. Just get DC LB and install locker yourself. Better money deal if you ask me.
EDIT: If your 06 is still running good you probably better off just keep driving it until wheels fall off.

    I dont have 4x4 :(

Also, I guess id be buying the TRD Sport, since I like the seats better, as well as some other knickknacks... like the camera and all that shit.

This started mainly because I need new shocks, new rear springs, need to fix the drive shaft and install all 3 universal joints apart from the center support bearing... and all that makes me think that id be spending money in a truck im still paying... which sort of pisses me off... also, some of the new features are somewhat to my liking... although mainly id like the 4x4 for some work areas ive been going to... or I could just get really good off road tires and use my prerunner like I know I can...

    Meh... too many factors.

Really, then only fair thing to do would be to dont have them on the truck and only have them as the option. So I dont have to pay for things that I dont need. :)

    1. Airbags - dont need.
    2. ABS - Dont need
    3. TPMS - definetely dont need. tire pressure gauge costs 99c
    4. Fancy carpets - Dont need
    5. Fancy seat covers - dont need
    6. Electric control of climate - dont need
    7. Drive by wire - $hit I dont need that
    8. Tracton control - dont have now and dont need that.

    For starts
if they moved that list to options, truck would cost much less.

I would think with the new 4 Runner and the more powerful 4.0 V6 out now, that it would only make sense for Toyota to put out a new Tacoma to use some of these parts and keep costs down for them. Wouldn't surprise me if we saw one soon, I've been keeping my eye on Motor Trend and Truck Trend...

To tell you the truth... I want V8... and then I want it supercharged... hell, I was about to do a swap to this Taco... which im leaning on keeping since the OME Suspension dealer just called me 2 minutes ago with a mighty fine surprise.

Id still want the new Taco when it comes out.............. FML

Hell yeah I would have loved this truck without all that crap. Nice drivetrain without fluff would have been really nice.

Older trucks blow for power and fuel economy. Having the extra gears in the transmission is nice. I'll happily take the solid mechanical stuff of today without frills.

I check my tire pressure every time I wheel. Most of the time I run under the recommended pressure anyway and that light on the dash is annoying.

I agree with the recommendation above. Keep your '06 and be happy. :)

hmm funny how US and Canada are the only two countries on the planet where you can not buy basic vehicle. So how all those other few billion people to manage through life with out all those safety regulations.

My way of checking tire pressure while driving is called experience. That TPMS is useless (and annoying ). When I got flat tire I knew pressure was going low before TPMS kicked in. For a second or two I was thinking that maybe I am imagining things since no warning light was ON.

In the meantime when I swap tires to winter ones I have to stare for 3 months at the idiot light on my dashboard.

My TPMS is on all the time... one bad sensor or w/e...

    Stupid useless crap...

Toyota has "kept in line" with the Tacoma so far, why would you believe they are really going to unleash that gay monstrosity as a Tacoma?

I have more "faith" in Toyota than that... I think...

Hopefully the redesign will include more cup holders. They forgot to put a couple in the engine bay and along the frame underneth the truck. :annoyed:
