The fuel pump recall had the potential to hinder progress, but it does not seem to be materializing. Maybe @OVTune could release what he has now for 2.0 Performance/Tow tunes with what is currently done as a prerelease to the Final. Then it could be tested and critiqued and he could use any constructive criticism and utilize it to make the Final release better for all. Maybe before Thanksgiving Day, so he will have time to go kill a Turkey.

    Hi Matt!

Will this release also include updates to the 3.5L Tune Pack for 04B91?

I’m not a fan of this plan. Mat has been pretty clear that there will only be one more release. His tunes are refined enough that he no longer needs critique. I’d rather him take another month and release his final and let the community take over. It’s clear that the community is willing, but it’s also clear that the community is on a steep learning curve.

I was just wondering if he could release what is done, instead of finishing all ECU IDs then releasing.

He didn't wait for AT tunes to release the MTs right?

Won't know if you don't ask. Not trying to be a prick guys... Geeze.

Even if that means he has the performance tune but not the tow tune I don't care anything would be great.

Edit: I've got no problem eating the mashed potatoes while waiting for the ham to finish cooking.

All the mods; all the problems
Had a long trip from Denver to Moab on my latest tune and it's fantastic. Something I changed also got rid of my speed limiter on 5.29s. I learned that when I saw my speedometer pass 90 in Utah!

It is not what is done and what is not. I believe it was said that everything is done.

The problem is the distribution. Either @OVTune needs to make thousands of tunes to cover every option combination, or launch an updated version of vF that allows for the creation of tunes with the options that each person wants. I believe that second way is the direction that @OVTune is going? So, the wait is for that to get sorted, tested, and pushed out. As this would be tied to Tune Packs, these option patches, which may be different for different ECUs, would need to be sent out also.

That's a lot of work, no matter how you cut it.

As was noted, MTs were easy as we don't have the AT to worry about. Even the tire and gearing options have no relation to us.

Which tune? I am making that very trip next Friday. Utah sucks at less than ~83 or whatever it is.

I think you are mostly right .
    My prediction is …..:rockband:
Mat is going to release the keys to VFtuner of tune switching along with the instructions for using it first ( maybe today? ) Then he will release the finals with 2.0 towing , and performance tunes , with and without GL . He then will be able to say if it is not to any ones liking , they can add remove gearlock , add their own high perf tune or hypermiling tune themselves or with the help of the forum etc. All should be satisfied including those that do not update to Vftuner with the original kits .
Thankyou Mat for what ever happens !!

    I know I will be happy !!!!

So again, why wait to release them all at once???
Do one ID a month or week etc. That is the question at hand.

If my guess is correct, then no ECUs can be given out until vF is ready to go.

I am just giving a reason as to why it is taking time to do this, along with all the other bumps in the road that have popped up since the MTs got 2.0 Final.
