I was thinking .vbe file to keep those who don't know what they're doing from messing with it if I share it. Easy to decrypt, and if you know how to do that then you likely know how to edit the file without messing anything else up.

    Flawless setup instructions from @Shellshock

Only thing worth possibly mentioning and I'm not sure if maybe I already enabled copy & paste for cmd shells but I _think_ it _might_ be possible to not have to change those settings and leverage the menu for a "I just need to copy this one thing this one time and I don't really care about the command prompt at all" sort of situations?

To paste in the software ID:

To copy out the activation key:

My first question is where to find what I'm running right now. Hmm... starts as all yellow then when clicked goes white. But yet I see nothing interesting yet

OK, I’m guessing health check is the way. Looks like I was on 04B1100 from what I saw. Attempting 04B14 cuw.

I'm thinking I got the flash going, though I clearly failed at registering the new key. Gonna try a little test drive now.

Just updated from 04B80 to 04B81, so I can test this. Mine is a 09/2019 build and does have the tamed down crawl control that won't climb 4x4 lumber. I did some logging previously to document the throttle limit so it will be easy to tell if indeed 04B81 has any impact.

Edit: No change crawl control still weak https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/crawl-control-not-working.657481/page-20#post-24530188

Yeah you can do it that way too. I always just enable it outta habit. It’s easier to just highlight and right click

Any other must-do’s after flashing? Drive test seemed to indicate a bit smoother at low rpm’s. Particularly 2nd for rolling stops where I noticed stuttering before. Not super dramatic though.

For those who have a 2021 AT with the TSB (either from Toyota or by doing it yourself) How does it feel before and after?
I have a 2016 MT but am thinking about jumping ship to a AT. Traffic is becoming a joke in town and I am tired of constantly shifting.

There is no TSB for the 2021s. From what I found updating to 04B14 and driving a 2020 MT, they felt the same except the clutch was much lighter on the 2020. Folks who have updated their 2019 ATs have said similar things. So it is my guess that overall, that the TSB tunes seem to represent the current MY.

Beyond that, OVT is working on support for the latest TSB and the 2021 models. You will be able to buy those credits and flash up if you buy a new Taco.

The only option after flashing is doing the DTC, LV, and if pertinent, AT Resets. If you did those, then it is just a bit of miles for the tune to fully settle. The most dramatic is the first drive. 500mi is number tossed around for full settling.

NBD. I did not do a Reset for 8mo after the first TSB flash because it was never mentioned, and then when I found out, I was too lazy to dig that far into TS. Once I tried the Resets though, I was a fan.

Thanks, I’m up and running. I was tripping up on my pioneer having taken over the ODB settings which was messing with TS. Disabling ODB on the pioneer solved that and got me to reset DTC and LV. Also got key immobilizer set. Time for a quick test drive and lunch. Thanks so much everyone.

Oh yeah, meant to post this but... Tony, what do you think about maybe adding a quick snippet to the 1st post about users who have aftermarket head units (such as my Pioneer) and maestro needing to turn off the ODB in order for TS to work properly? Took me a little while to figure that out myself. Unless it is also in there and I failed in my reading comprehension yet again?

I can get photos of this if it helps. The default setup auto disabled ODB in the pioneer the first time, then my gauges didn't work so I re-enabled it and set to always on which then blocked TS and made it time out connecting to vehicle which confused me until I realized what was going on.

That is not there, but I can add it. I'm stock on the H/U side, so if you give me the text and pics, I will paste it in.

    Something like

If you have an aftermarket head unit and maestro interface you may need to disable ODB communication in the head unit before using TechStream to connect to vehicle.
